Some users may experience crashes or stability issues

3DMark is a widely-used app geared toward benchmarking, helping users evaluate and compare the performance of their smartphone and tablet devices. Please be aware that our latest benchmark, 3DMark Solar Bay, is only compatible with very recent Android devices featuring Vulkan Ray Tracing support. 3DMark evaluates both GPU and CPU performance on your device. Beyond providing a numerical score for comparison purposes, it offers a wealth of additional features. So buckle up, grab your phone, and let's see if you've got what it takes to race ahead of the competition!

Engage in 3DMark Solar Bay to assess the performance of cutting-edge Android devices supporting real-time ray tracing for gaming. Ray tracing is a groundbreaking technology in Android games enhancing lighting realism.

3DMark Solar Bay represents our latest and most challenging test for compatible Android devices. It consists of three segments with incremental ray tracing workloads, allowing you to gauge how enabling ray tracing impacts your device's gaming prowess.

Participate in 3DMark Wild Life to contrast newer Android devices from a range of manufacturers against the latest iPhone and iPad models.

For the future-proof Android devices, there's 3DMark Wild Life Extreme - a demanding benchmark setting high standards that some current phones may struggle to meet due to its intensity.

Both 3DMark Solar Bay, Wild Life, and Wild Life Extreme offer quick benchmarks for instant performance assessment as well as longer stress tests to evaluate sustained heavy load performance.

Use Sling Shot or Sling Shot Extreme to compare mid-range Android devices against older iOS models effortlessly.

Making informed smartphone choices:

With access to performance data on thousands of devices within the app, it's simple to identify and compare top smartphones and tablets using 3DMark. Employ the in-app rankings feature to easily search, filter, and sort through the latest Android and iOS devices.

How to use the 3DMark Android app

My tests screen

Choose and install your tests

There are several benchmark tests in 3DMark. Each one is designed for a specific class of device.

The recommended benchmark for your device appears first. Swipe left to see other tests. Your device may not be compatible with some tests. It may also be too powerful for older tests.

To save storage space and minimize download times, you can choose which tests you want to install.

Tests that are not installed have a monochrome image. To install a test, tap the orange download icon. After a test is installed, its image is shown in full color.

You can uninstall individual tests on the Settings screen. You won't lose your scores if you later decide to uninstall a test to free up some storage space.

Run your tests

Tap the orange run icon to start benchmarking.

Some benchmarks have multiple versions. For example, Sling Shot Extreme has an OpenGL ES 3.1 version and a Vulkan version. Unlimited versions run off-screen.

3DMark

You can choose which version to run by tapping the icon on the left of the screen. Select a test, then start your benchmark run by tapping Run on this screen.

My results screen

This screen in the 3DMark Android app lists all of your benchmark results from your device. Tap on a result card to open it and see the detailed result view.

Tutorial

After opening 3DMark on your device for the first time, a short tutorial will explain the four main parts of the app.

You can skip the tutorial by pressing Skip in the upper-right corner of the screen. You can open the tutorial again from the Settings screen.

Sharing your results

3DMark makes it easy to save and share your results, comparisons, charts, and many of the other screens in the app. Whenever you see the share icon, tap it to share an image of the current card.

System Requirements:

• For Solar Bay benchmarks, your device must run Android 12 or above, have 4GB RAM or more, and Vulkan 1.1 ray query support.

• Wild Life benchmarks necessitate Android 10 or later and 3 GB RAM or higher.

• Other benchmarks require Android 5 or later.

I wanted to check if an old phone was stable, but I couldn't because the app needs Android 10 or newer. It shouldn't even work on older Android versions. So, the app was useless for me.

I got a phone that was the top choice last year, and it was really great. The app is always honest. I'm going to use it again to get another phone next year. Thanks to the developers, you're awesome!

The benchmark was decent before the last update. The functionality for lower spec benchmark was removed as it was considered useless on newer devices. However, how can we compare power between older devices now that the test is gone? Moreover, my phone model variant is not listed, although I see other versions of the same model (One+7Pro) included. Please add another test or two if you are removing any. It would be better to update this benchmark app instead of releasing a new one to maximize profit.

3Dmark installed, but the benchmarks didn't install; it showed a sand hour symbol and didn't install on my Mi 6.

The app is great for testing my phone's graphics performance. I have a device with Snapdragon 860 chipset and Adreno 640 GPU. It scored 3545 in 3DMark Wild Life test. Even when I changed my device name to ROG Phone 3, the score remained the same. This tool really pushes the GPU to its maximum potential. The visuals in Wild Life clip are impressive, almost like on a PC. I really enjoyed using it.

Slingshot is working fine now after reinstalling it for the second time. It seems like I have bad luck. The API overhead issue still causes crashes, but I believe it's due to the driver. Previously, Slingshot didn't work on my Note 8. Only Icestorm worked. When using Eslingshot with GL, it crashed immediately, and Vulkan just skipped. The API Overhead function seemed to be functioning well until reaching 23808 draw calls per second in the Vulkan section, but it's probably a driver bug.

This app can help you find out quickly whether OpenGL or Vulkan is the better backend driver for your phone, instead of spending hours figuring it out on your own.

I thought it couldn't get any worse than the PC version, but this one is even more terrible - it won't even start.

Last year in August, I got the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S phone and downloaded an app. Everything was fine back then – all tests ran accurately. However, this time when I reinstalled it, I kept getting the message "unable to connect to UL servers." My Wi-Fi is strong at 110mb/s, so I'm puzzled why the app won't connect. I've tried reinstalling multiple times, but it's still not working. It's strange how the app functioned well on my phone last year, but now it won't even begin or download tests.
