Tutorial

Once you reach the abandoned mine, check the chest to your right to get 900 baqua. After a cutscene, the way through the mine will open. Make a quick save at the save point, then venture onward.

You’ll quickly come across a minecart. You can press A (or your controller’s equivalent) to grab and move it, and press that same button to release it. First, move the minecarts slightly forward so that you can pass by them, but not so far that you can’t get through the narrow passageways.

Once you get to the north section shown on the map above, open the chest to receive a Topaz Ring. This accessory boosts 5 defense, and is great to use on someone with already great defense like Garr, or someone lacking like Lian.Head to your right, and you’ll eventually come across another minecart. Pull this one back slightly, then head southwest. At the end of this path, you’ll find another chest. This one contains another 900 baqua.

Once you looted that chest, loop back around to where you pulled the minecart backwards from. Once you’ve returned, head into the passageway that the cart was blocking to claim another chest, this one containing a Rune of Earth.

The Blocked Path in the Mine

As you head to the main objective marked with the blue circle on your map, you’ll come across a cracked boulder in your path. If you noticed, you passed by a minecart with a boulder in it. Pull the minecart back (I rolled mine all the way back to the bridge, shown in the image above), then charge forward! You’ll crash through the boulder, and you’ll progress to the midpoint of the dungeon.

Once you cross the bridge, head to your far right. You’ll find a chest that contains the bulky Heavy Helm to increase your defenses. After you collect this, head into the inner opening to head to the second story of the structure.

On the second story, head across the bridge to your left. You’ll come across another spire to climb. Head up this column, and you’ll have a chest to collect immediately to your left. Collect this chest to get 6 Antivenom Herbs. Head all the way around the round path right to find another chest, this one with 900 baqua to add to your coffers.

Next, head across the bridge to your rear. Run until you find another spire. Run around this spire and you’ll come across a blue chest to the south. You’ll find a new ability rune in this one, titled the Rune of Feint Thrust.

Now, go ahead and cross the bridge over to the third spire. Head through the gate to descend. Run around this spire and right before you would become visible again, head to your north. You’ll find yourself on the bridge in the rear, and be able to reach another blue chest. This one contains a strength-boosting Rune of Power.

Head back to the main column and head to your left. Speak to the man with the blue bandana to meet Hiro, a traveling merchant. This is the first time you can buy Healing Incense, an item that heals 60 HP to all allies. It’s quite a lot pricier than Healing Herbs, but could save your bacon in tough fights. If you need a little more money, open the chest right next to the merchant to get 900 more baqua.Head back to the other side of the spire, and descend to the bottom. Head to your right and follow the tracks to reach your next objective and progress to the next room. Once you’re there, head to your left and you’ll come across a save point to save at.
