As is common within most games in this genre, Age of Wushu Dynasty has an enormous open spaced city where you'll be able to move freely, and where you'll get to take on missions from other characters. All you have to do is access the missions menu and select the one you want to join, so that your character automatically goes there.

Once within a mission area, the action begins. Combat systems in Age of Wushu Dynasty are extremely dynamic: you'll be able to handle different attack styles and triple combos, on top of blocking and dodging your enemies strikes.

Age of Wushu is a good MMORPG that in spite of being fascinatingly based on ancient China while still only offers mediocre gameplay that isn't too original. Luckily enough, its visuals are awesome though, that doesn't make up for the fact that when there are too many characters on screen, the game slows down and starts to lag considerably.

Background story

Age of Wushu is a MMORPG centered on a Wuxia-focused historical China. Heavily inspired by period dramas, it puts players in the shoes of a martial artist from one of 8 major schools, and gives them a large sandbox world to do as they wish, whether that is spying on rival schools, or working as a craftsman. Naturally, most people come for the martial arts, and this is where the game also shines, boasting a non-linear progression system, unabashedly vibrant combat and more than enough techniques to make your own mishmash of a fighting style. Age of Wushu is a brightly appealing title rife with sometimes excessive complexity, which will however manage to lure you in with martial arts, and keep you through its addictive freeform progression system. If you’ve ever thought Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon would make a good game, then this is the title for you.

Character creation

In Age of Wushu the first thing the player must do is create a character. This is not a choice that should be made lightly as the player can only have one character per account. This adds weight to the decisions, and is a unique and intentional feature of Age of Wushu. When deleting a character, there is a 48-hour protection period in which the character can be reclaimed.

Facial customization

The character's face can be changed later by purchasing a Makeover Certificate from the game's Cash Shop at the cost of 30 Gold. There's no need to worry too much about perfecting the character's appearance during creation, as two Makeover Certificates can be obtained for free from the quests A Makeover and Gift from Heaven.

The selected hairstyle appears only when the character is not wearing headgear. Each headgear and cosmetic outfit in the game features its own designated hairstyle. For example, wearing the Shaolin outfit causes the character to appear bald.
