Introducing Airport City transport manager
Airport games are a wonderful adventure, and Airport City is more than your average city simulator or one of the tycoon games. It takes the exciting features of two worlds in just the right proportions: the sense of adventure from airplane games, and the need to plan strategically from the city simulators. If you’re starting to think that there are things beyond farming, put your farm sim on hold and start building your town that will gradually become a city, and then a megapolis with the world-class modern airport! We know how plane games can become repetitive over time, so we are constantly improving this city simulator, to ensure that our players are always engaged, both on the ground and in the air.
Whether you want to try out the role of an air tycoon or an airline commander, you’ll find something to love about Airport City. Build a modern international-class terminal to send an airplane to whichever corner of the world you want. Just get your aircraft in the air and land them in any destination, from a faraway town to a shining megapolis. To make your travels memorable, you can bring back rare artifacts and unique collections. See how many souvenirs can fit in one aircraft!
But it’s not just a flight simulator—you’ll have to apply your outstanding management skills to develop all the supporting infrastructure too, in an amazing airport game! Take care of the entire city next to it, to provide your airport all the required services.
If what you’re looking for in city building games is peaceful gameplay and interactions, this city simulator is exactly what you need. Here you start from a small town and develop it into a great megapolis! You can create alliances with other players to complete joint quests and participate in competitions. Just find a fellow airline commander from a neighboring city and make your gaming experience twice as much fun! Regular updates with new models of aircraft, buildings, and new destinations, will become an infinite source of entertainment.

Q. What about friends?
You won't get far without friends in the game. Look for friends by posting in the General Discussion area.
There is a guide on the types of friends you should look for airportcitygame.com
Q. What about visiting neighbors?
When you visit a neighbor, you can tap up to 5 buildings or entities in the city (6 if your platform supports a free tap after watching a video). By doing this, you can collect fuel, coins, passengers and collectible items.
Visiting neighbors is tied to reputation. The more neighbors you visit, the more reputation points you get and the more neighbors you can ultimately visit (to a maximum of 12). You can find information on reputation, the number of neighbors you can visit, and the number of gifts you can send here.
Find out more about neighbors and visiting here.
Q. What about gifts?
You can (and should) send gifts daily. It increases your chances of receiving gifts daily. The amount of gifts you can send daily is determined by your reputation level which can be increased by visiting neighbours and tapping on items in their cities daily. Here is a link to the wiki that shows reputation/gifts/visits
Q. How do I get more fuel?
Here is a post about fuel airportcitygame.com
Q. Progress is slow. How do I get things purchased/upgraded faster?
This is a game for the long haul. Some people in this forum have been playing the game for 10+ years. There are things in the game to challenge you at every level. No matter how quickly you want to get stuff upgraded, avoid purchasing coins with real money. Some of the most expensive upgrades would cost you $500 in real dollars
In the early stages of the game, the majority of your coins will come from collections, but there are strategies to maximize coin generation. You can find those here airportcitygame.com
Q. Things are expensive. Do they go on sale?
Yes, there are regular sales in the game
- Every week, there is either a land sale (half price greenies) or a currency sale (3x greenies or 7x coins - but don't buy the coins)
- Land sale information airportcitygame.com
- Some buildings go on sale. Watch for buildings like Windmills and Brick Houses that can only be purchased from the bank. Tesla Power Plants come up every so often for 24 greenies instead of 30.
- Bonuses are cheaper to buy from Duke Crocker when he visits your city twice each week.
A full list of sale items (buildings, planes, mystery boxes, collection chests, etc) is available in Captain WH Rollins guides. However, be careful not to spend greens on buildings you can get through standard game play airportcitygame.com
Q. What do those letters mean in my friends' names?
We have our own communication method to easily tell friends what we need even if English is not your native language. There is a list of acronyms here airportcitygame.com
Q. What about alliances?
Alliances are groups of flyers working towards common goals. Alliances may be working on task completion to earn bonuses that will last a week. These are great bonuses that can help you progress in the game faster. They include bonuses that increase experience earned, increase coin generation, reduce breakdown of planes or increase the duration of bonuses.
Not everyone cares about bonuses. Long-time players have passed the need to generate coins or they have lots of spare parts in their warehouse. Many of these players don't care about completing tasks but they do care about alliance rankings which requires flying lots and lots of passengers.
For these reasons, it's important to find an alliance and players that have the same goals you do - and in the early stages of the game, that goal is probably generating more coins.
Watch for posts looking for new alliance members - or post here to find an alliance that aligns with your goals airportcitygame.com
There is also a section in the wiki that has information on alliances airportcitygame.com
Q. What about alliance destinations?
You will not be able to fly to alliance destinations unless you are part of an alliance. You can join one (see previous question) or create your own. Some people feel that an alliance of one makes it easier to get exactly the weekly bonus you want.
Alliance missions could be to standard destinations or to special alliance-only destinations. Since you have no control over which alliance destination you are assigned, try fly to the special alliance destinations as much as possible, especially in the beginning stages while you have a fleet of small planes. At some point there are two things you will want from these destinations:
- 3 stars: These destinations require 1000 flights each so it will take a long time to get this all done
- 10 items: Each destination drops a single item for collections that reward a Tower of London or Eiffel Tower once you have completed 10 collections.
These are two of the most challenging buildings to get but if you start early, it will be much easier.
Q. How do I do space launches?
There is a guide with pictures here airportcitygame.com
A full list of rewards for the space launches can be found here airportcitygame.com
Q. What are map runs?
Here is a comprehensive guide on map runs airportcitygame.com
And a list of all maps available in the game airportcitygame.com
Q. What are adventure buildings?
Adventure buildings drop items for collections rather than producing coins or passengers. They also increase your maximum population without having to upgrade your town hall. They are highly sought after.
Here is a good guide to flying adventure flights airportcitygame.com
Q. What buildings increase population?
Of course the town hall is one. But there are other buildings that are more important to upgrade. So save your coins for other upgrades and leverage some of the following buildings to increase your population.
This guide contains information on population and strategies for increasing it airportcitygame.com
This guide has lots of information on buildings:
How To Obtain Buildings Which Increase Your City Population, City Electricity Capacity And Terminal Passenger Capacity (v8.11.39)
Q. What is the best building for electricity?
The short answer is to buy Tesla Power Plants on sale in the bank as soon as you are able to.
The longer answer with explanations can be found here. airportcitygame.com
Q. Should I fly helicopters?
The answer isn't simply "yes". There are certainly things to consider with helicopter flights that are covered in this topic here airportcitygame.com
Q. What are bonuses?
Bonuses can be used for many things: to speed up flights; to earn more coins; to increase passenger production; to increase the chances of having items drop; to reducing the likelihood of a plane breaking down, etc. Many bonuses can be purchased with green dollars, but some can also be earned for free through regular game play. airportcitygame.com
A full list of bonuses is available in the wiki airportcitygame.com
Q. How do I get green dollars?
You will earn one green dollar (greenies) in the game for every new level you achieve. There are other ways to get greenies
FREE
- Tap on the Bank (top right of the screen). There are free offers twice each day that may include green dollars
- Note this has stopped. It's unclear if it's permanent. Every Friday, G! releases a code to redeem 3 free greenies. They also release codes mid-week for a bonus box that may contain greenies. These codes are posted in Announcements
- airportcitygame.com
- Here is a post with a guide on redeeming special codes airportcitygame.com
- You can earn greenies by ranking in the top 25 places for event competitions
- Some events have greenies dropping from the cars that drive around your city. You can earn lots during these events.
NOT FREE
- Every second week, there is a sale on greenies in the bank where they are sold for 1/3 of the price. If you intend to use real money to purchase greenies, wait for this sale.
Q. What should I upgrade first?
There are as many different opinions as there are players in the game. But here are some guidelines:
- Upgrade runways as soon as you are able. There are a few reasons for this
- You can land bigger guest planes which increases the range of collections you earn which equals more coins
Read: Benefits of landing guest planes
- The runways will already be upgraded by the time you get to planes of that level
- Upgrade Control Towers and add stands to be able to fly more planes
- Upgrade Terminal to increase terminal capacity. You can also increase terminal capacity by buying parking lots and other buildings. Find more information here airportcitygame.com
Don't bother with upgrading the town hall to higher levels too soon. There are lots of buildings that increase your town population without having to upgrade your town hall
Q. When is the right time to upgrade to the next level of plane?
That is only for you to determine, however, there are some guidelines. Check out this guide. airportcitygame.com
Q. What are liveries?
Liveries are special paint jobs you can apply to your planes. Some make the planes faster, some increase profits from flights, and some increase the drop rate from planes. Still others are available to just make them less boring but have no other benefit.
The wiki contains a list of all the liveries in the game airportcitygame.com
Here is a guide on using liveries. airportcitygame.com
Q,. How are alliance tasks determined?
Every week, you are assigned 3 different alliance destinations. Which destinations and tasks you are assigned is based on your fleet. You can find more information here airportcitygame.com
Q. What are Visa Centers, Pawn Shops and Bank Branches and are they worth it?
These buildings automatically collect from passenger buildings, commercial buildings or collectible buildings. In the short term, it seems like buildings that collect coins for you would be the most beneficial. But a dedicated player will relatively quickly get to a point where there is nothing else to spend coins on. So the value of the bank branch is temporary.
But passengers - this is something you will want more and more of throughout the game. The Visa Centers are a great purchase once the time comes. There is a thread here on using them airportcitygame.com.
