The Qur'an (Arabic: اَلْقُرآن‎, al-qurʾān, literally "the recitation") is the most important scripture in Islam and is widely regarded as the finest Arabic scripture and literary work. The chapters of the Qur'an are called "surahs" and the verses are called "ayahs".

Muslims believe that the Qur'an is a revelation from Allah.
