AndSMB (samba client) - File sharing & access

When I copy files from my Windows PC to my phone, or from my phone to my PC, I don't need to use a USB cable.

There is an app that lets you access Windows drives and folders on your Android device. It's called "ES File Explorer." You can download it from the Google Play Store. This app allows you to browse files on your Windows PC right from your Android device. It also supports transferring files between your PC and your phone. I've already set up several SMB clients, but this UI just really throws me off. I couldn't even get it started.

I am impressed by how quickly pictures (scanned documents) can be uploaded to a Linux station. The delay in creating files is minimal. It is possible to set up multiple destination servers or users.

The connection issues were frustrating. The error messages that popped up when the connection failed were confusing. Instead of a simple explanation of what went wrong, I kept getting pages of Java code in the logs.

I keep getting access denied even after checking everything twice. It's possible that the client is unable to encrypt its traffic, which I made mandatory on my server. My assessment might not be completely fair, but the client states it supports SMB3, which should have no issues with accepting encryptions. It's possible I'm mistaken, but I still can't access via this client.

The app cannot support DFS. It must have this feature as it is essential for connecting to SMB clients. Moreover, it lacks the capability to access /Android/data on Android 11 and does not offer a root option.
