How to Hide Words and Phrases in Threads

As anticipated, this feature functions in a manner similar to the Muted words option on X (previously known as Twitter). It serves to prevent spoilers and sensitive topics that you prefer not to appear in your feed. The feature is now available to all Threads users. If you wish to block particular words, here's the process.

1.On Threads, click on your profile icon located in the bottom navigation bar.

2.Then click on the globe or padlock icon at the top - left corner to open the profile settings.

3.Next, navigate to the Hidden Words option.

4.Choose the "On" option beneath "Custom words and phrases".

5.Subsequently, click on "Manage custom words and phrases".

6.Input the words you wish to conceal and then click on "Add".

If you intend to hide multiple words or phrases, separate them with a comma when entering them, and continue adding other words. Once you tap "Add", the app will handle the separation automatically. Moreover, you can click on each individual word or phrase to edit or remove it.
