The ATM Milano Official App serves as the formal application of Azienda Trasporti Milanesi for effortless navigation via public transport in Milan and neighboring areas.

Through our app, users have the capability to:

- Swiftly locate lines, stops, schedules, and waiting durations

- Procure regular, daily, and carnet tickets

- Renew their pass while receiving notifications concerning its expiration

ATM is completely unrelated to alleged commercial offers published in recent days on Facebook, according to which it would be possible to obtain public transport cards with free travel.

Using Experience

Buy and validate your ticket with the app

You can buy all types of tickets to travel in Milan, in the Municipalities of the Metropolitan City, in those of the province of Monza and Brianza that are part of the STIBM fare system, and on the Z301 Milan - Bergamo line of NET (Nord Est Trasporti). You can pay by credit card, PayPal (also in 3 installments), Satispay or MyBank. Once purchased, tickets remain saved in the Tickets section . Select a ticket in the app installed on your smartphone and tap to validate it .

Enter and exit the metro with the QR code on your ticket

Hold the QR code of the ticket close to the reader on the turnstile. To make it easier to read, do not rotate the phone horizontally: hold it straight and at least 5 centimeters away from the reader .

If you make multiple trips on the subway with the same ticket (of course, within the time limits of validity), you must validate it for each new trip. Touch the ticket to revalidate it.

Alternatives to QR code?

Once purchased, you can also print the ticket at the vending machines in the station, near the turnstiles: 

- Select Tickets with PIN/PNR code on the vending machine 

- enter the PNR code that you find under the QR code on the ticket 

- use the printed ticket at the turnstile, to enter or exit

When you print a ticket that has already been validated on the app, the validity period does not change: it remains the same as the one started from the moment of validation.

What to do in case of checks and avoid fines

You can only travel on public transport with valid tickets or passes. Therefore, always validate your ticket before boarding . In the event of a check, open the app and show our staff the validated ticket. If you have printed your ticket, show it and keep it until the end of your journey.

If you print the ticket, it disappears from the app

Once you print the ticket, this is the ticket you use. The digital ticket disappears from the app . Keep it printed until the end of your trip.

If you print the carnet, use the printed version for all your journeys.

Do not delete or update the app while using the ticket

If you delete, reinstall, or download an update to the app, you will lose the ticket you have validated and are using.

Renew your subscription from the app and activate it on your first trip

If you have an ATM card, save it on the app: you can then load it with all the subscriptions you want  by paying with a credit card, PayPal or Satispay. From the Subscriptions section you can renew recent subscriptions or purchase the subscription for the rate you need.

Once purchased from the app, the subscription must be activated on the first trip : you can do this by placing the ATM card on one of the totems found in all the metro stations.

By saving your electronic card on the app, a world of services is at your fingertips: 

- a reminder warns you when your card or subscription is about to expire (purchased from digital channels or from vending machines or retailers) 

- book an appointment at our ATM Point counters
