* This app does not operate independently but is operated in conjunction with the apps of financial institutions such as banks, securities, cards, and insurance companies.
It is a collaboration app for enhancing the security of bio-authentication in financial institutions and ensuring compatibility of bio-authentication among financial institutions.
Financial institutions can prevent unauthorized use by individuals other than customers when using bio-authentication through the collaboration app, thus enhancing transaction security. Moreover, once customers register bio-authentication with a financial institution using the collaboration app, they can utilize the compatibility function among financial institutions of the collaboration app to enable bio-authentication across all financial institutions using the app without the inconvenience of duplicate registrations, thereby enhancing customer convenience.
When customers complete bio-authentication registration on a financial app, the bio-authentication collaboration app requires no additional information registration, and it automatically operates without the need for customers to separately launch the collaboration app.
■ Information on App Permissions
The Bio Authentication Collaboration App provides the necessary access permissions for providing bio-authentication services according to Article 22-2 (Consent for Access Permissions) of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection, and its related enforcement decree, as outlined below.
BillingService
Paper-based Giro Service
Paper giro service makes the total payments collected by KFTC to billing institutions’ accounts when customers pay the giro bills at a bank branch, unmanned kiosk, online giro website, via Internet banking, CD/ATMs and mobile devices upon receiving paper giro bills. This service is applied to electricity bills, telecommunications bills, insurance bills, taxes, gas bills, newspaper bills, various subscription fees, and donations.
Electronic Giro Service
Electronic Giro Service is a batch collection and payment service upon the request of the institution using giro service or of the customers. This service is divided into direct debit, standing order, and direct deposit. Direct debit is used to regularly collect payment due directly from individual payers’ accounts on a specified date to transfer it to the account of billing organization. Standing order is used to withdraw a fixed amount from the applicant’s account at regular intervals to deposit it to an account specified by the customer for various installment savings, subscription fees, and loan principal and interest payment. Direct deposit is used to withdraw a bulk of payments due from the account of the giro user institution to put them into the accounts of multiple recipients for salary, dividends, and pension payments.
Internet Giro Service
Internet Giro Service allows customers to retrieve and pay invoices for national tax, local tax, various utility bills, and regular giro bills on the website(www.giro.or.kr), mobile, CD/ATMs, etc. The institution using Internet Giro Service can streamline payment operation and reduce costs associated with collecting payments. Customers can conveniently make payments from home or offices using a smart device, PC, or telephone without even visiting a branch of financial institutions. National tax, customs duty, local tax and others can be paid with a credit card besides account transfers.
CMS Network Service
Cash Management Service (CMS) Network allows companies trading with multiple financial institutions to execute a bulk of collection and payment operations in an efficient and swift manner. CMS Network services include debit transfer from a batch of customer accounts to collection account of companies, credit transfer from the corporate payment accounts or others to countless customer accounts, real-time account ID inquiry and enrollments.

BANKPAY (E-Commerce Payment Gateway)
BANKPAY is an e-commerce payment gateway designed to enable a customer to make real-time account transfers to pay for goods and services. It works through various devices such as computer, smartphone, etc. and is used roughly at 700,000 online and physical member stores.
Cash Card Network
Cash card Network allows customers to pay for goods, withdraw from the account, and save the small changes into a Cash card. This service is very secure and reliable, and offer tax saving, and cashback to customers, while charging lower membership fees for merchants. Furthermore, in December 2019, the mobile version of the service was launched to enable customers to download their Cash cards on smartphone to execute a simple payment, in-store cash withdrawal, changes accumulation, CD/ATM transactions, etc.
Other Services
Other services provided include the Card Value Added Network (VAN) service, which connects member stores with financial institutions through communication networks to facilitate intermediate approval, cancellation of card transactions, and funds settlement. Additionally, there is the Payment Gateway (PG) service, which offers transaction approval, purchase execution, payment settlement, and other supplementary services to merchants when they sell products to users through e-commerce platforms.
