STEP 1. Tell About Your Car

Enter Vehicle Information: Start by providing your car's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or license plate number. This information helps in retrieving accurate details about your vehicle, including its make, model, and year.

STEP 2. Confirm Car Details

Verify Information: After entering your vehicle's information, double-check the details such as trim level and options. This ensures that the appraisal reflects the true condition and specifications of your car.

STE3. Select Local Dealers

Schedule Appraisal: Choose from a list of local dealers who can appraise your vehicle. You can schedule an appointment for an in-person appraisal to receive cash offers for your car.

FAQ

1. Why is my recent service not showing up?

If your service history is not showing up in CARFAX Car Care, you may have serviced your car at a shop that is not a CARFAX Service Network participant. To help your favorite shop join the CARFAX Service Network, login into your Car Care account and use the Suggest a Shop form located under the Service History or Service Shops tabs.

2. Can I add a DIY service into CARFAX Car Care?

When log in to CARFAX Car Care, you can add your own service records, including records for services that you've completed yourself. Simply click on the "Add Service Record" button in your Service History. However, this information will not be included on the CARFAX Vehicle History Report.

3. Why did I lose access to CARFAX Car Care?

The CARFAX Car Care service is a tool designed for vehicle owners to track maintenance on vehicles that they personally own, and any alternative use of the service that violates the terms and conditions may result in termination of access.

    This app is really awesome. You can personalize it, ask shops to join, add DIY services, and attach photos of receipts. It's a total upgrade from traditional paper records. Plus, it monitors mileage so you'll know when your next service is coming up based on the criteria you set. There's a section for notes where you can list the brands or model numbers of parts used and whatever else you'd like. You can even keep tabs on your fuel efficiency.

    For a whole year, I've been using this app without running into any problems. It's been really handy for keeping an eye on our vehicles' maintenance and checking for any recalls or service updates. Recently, I discovered it even gives me direct links to state registration websites, which made renewing inspections and registrations a breeze.

    I personally find it very helpful. It's great to have my service records organized in one place. It includes the service shops I go to, and they are connected so most of my records get logged automatically when the work is completed. It also predicts mileage for each vehicle and sends me reminders when it's time for a service. Overall, it has been quite beneficial for me.

    Overall, it's alright but there are a few problems. When I entered one record, the app made two copies of it. I can't fix mistakes or remove records, which is inconvenient. It doesn't let me save or print receipts linked to a service entry. This could be an issue if I sell the car without the original receipts, as I can't give the records to the new owner.

    The app is great for keeping track of your vehicle's service records and schedule. It automatically reminds you of common service intervals, which is really helpful. However, there are a couple of things that could make it even better. It would be nice to be able to add service costs so you can see a running total and cost per mile. Also, having the ability to track efficiency based on different octane levels and gas brands would be a useful addition to the app.

    The app works really good. I like the info it gives me. But, need to enter all gas entries to get accurate MPG. Add option to mark missed fill-ups. Issue still there and account keeps logging out on all devices since 02/08/21.

    I love the app! After the update in mid-April 2020, it kept shutting down as soon as I opened it. Had to delete and download it again. Seems to be working fine now though. The gas mileage tracker is really good. It helped me identify some small problems with my car. I also like getting reminders for registration and maintenance. Just wish it would let me renew the registration before it's due. And the car valuation feature is cool too!

    The app is good for me, but I have two suggestions. Firstly, it would be great if users could back up all their manually entered car data like repairs, gas tracking, and tire mileage onto the phone's SIM card, memory, or even a desktop or laptop. It's risky to lose all that valuable information when you've been driving the same car for years! Secondly, it would be helpful to have an option to switch between dark and light modes. If this feature already exists, I'm unable to locate it. Does dark mode align with the phone's system settings? Thank you for developing this app.
