How are number of days on CarGurus counted?

A vehicle can be sold from one dealership to another, or change locations between partnering dealerships. We display both the number of days that the car has been at the current dealer lot (number of days at the dealership) and the total number of days the car has been for sale on CarGurus (number of days on CarGurus):

How to review a dealership

Here at CarGurus we believe in transparency and strive to provide the most accurate dealer and vehicle information we can to our shoppers. As such, in order to review a dealership, users must first submit a phone or email lead to a dealer directly through the CarGurus site. 

A lead can be submitted either by using the listing contact form or by clicking on the on-page dealer phone number. 

If you contacted the dealer through CarGurus you will receive an email within 7 days of contacting the dealer asking you to rate your experience with the dealership. Please follow the link in this email to write about your experience with the dealer; you will then be prompted to verify your email address or phone number. Users with a CarGurus account will also be notified directly on the site in the notifications center. 

What is IMV?

The CarGurus Instant Market Value (IMV) is an estimated fair retail price for a vehicle based on a detailed analysis of comparable current and previous car listings in your market.

We compute and update our IMV calculations daily using a complex algorithm that takes into account millions of data points including make, model, trim, year, mileage, options, and vehicle history.

Our IMV is intended to provide pricing guidance but is not an official appraisal or guarantee.  

Why doesn't this listing have a deal rating?

Our IMV tool compares thousands of similar vehicles to provide accurate price estimates and to let shoppers know whether or not they are getting a good deal. However, there are a few reasons why we might not be able to calculate an IMV. These include but are not limited to:

- Too few comparable vehicles in the area

- Theft has been reported on the vehicle

- There is salvage history or frame damage on the title

- The price is too good to be true

- The price seems too high

    I found the perfect car on this app. I didn't buy it through the app, but it helped me find the dealership where I could buy it. I don't really need the app anymore, but I still have it. I told a few friends about it, and it even helped my friend who can never make up their mind decide on what car to get.

    I used this app for a while now to search for my perfect car. Recently the filters stopped working properly. When I choose the type of car and its age, everything seems fine. But when I add another filter to exclude damaged cars or other options, it shows me cars that are much more expensive than what I can afford. It's just frustrating.

    The service is good, but I'm hesitating to suggest the app now. It seems like the app is essentially a simplified web browser stuck on the CarGurus mobile site. Moreover, they got rid of the "sign in with Google" feature. If you used that, you're out of luck signing in. Stick to the website.

    This app is good sometimes but has a lot of problems, especially when you are trying to add more filters to search for a specific car. The price searches often show cars that are more expensive than your budget, and the mileage searches show cars with a lot more miles than you want. I don't know what changes they made to the app, but I used to give it a 5-star rating. Now, I would only give it a 1-star rating, and that's being nice.

    Have been using the app for years and loved it, but recently I only use it if I have no other choice. When you check out a vehicle and then try to go back to keep browsing, it always takes you right back to the beginning or it takes forever to load near where you left off. Also, some filters I apply seem to get deselected when I go back to browse more. There are more issues, but I'm running out of space.

    The left side of the screen is cut off when looking at ads after the update. This app is difficult to navigate and has a bad design. There are many issues, such as not saving filter settings. Every time you reopen the app, it goes back to showing everything instead of what you prefer. It would be better if searches could be saved with filters applied, so you don't have to adjust them each time. The app's performance is deteriorating.

    Whenever I search for something, the results don't reset correctly. I end up having to go back to the main page of the app and restart my search many times. A year later, I decided to give this app another try but unfortunately, it's even worse now. There are problems with connecting, and the search function is still not working properly when I update filters. I have lowered my rating to 2 stars. Just like before, I think I'll stick to using the website instead. It's not perfect, but at least it works better than this app.

    My app is broken. When I search for the first car, it's okay. But when I try to search for another car, it keeps showing me results for the first car. For instance, if I search for a Honda Civic and then try to search for a Toyota Corolla, it just keeps showing me Honda Civics. I even tried reinstalling the app. I'm using an Android S21 Ultra with the latest update. **UPDATE**: This issue only occurs in the new car section. I really like this app, please fix it! **UPDATE 8/4/21**: It's fixed now! Thank you.

    This app was once great, but now it's not even in the top 5. It has become slow, laggy, and the filters are ineffective. The most frustrating thing is that when you click on a vehicle and then go back to the list, you're taken all the way to the top instead of where you left off. This makes using the app annoying and not worth the trouble.
