Cats and Soup – Full Game Guide
Cats & Soup – The Basic Premise
It’s quite simple, really; you will join the feline culinary adventure in Cats and Soup, set in a lush jungle kitchen.
As the owner and manager of this unique restaurant, it’s your job to assist a team of cute and talented cats as they cook up delicious soups and other dishes for their hungry customers.
Start with simple soup recipes and upgrade your facilities, and ingredients, and hire cats to attend different stations.
Help your cats to chop, slice and dice ingredients, and manage the cooking process to prepare delicious soups and expand your menu.
As you progress, unlock new recipes and expand your business by adding juice station, and other food items to your menu.
The cats will keep working and earning gold for you even when you’re not playing, so come back often to collect your earnings and invest in upgrades to keep your jungle kitchen running smoothly.
How To Run a Successful Forest Kitchen?
In this section, we’ll be sharing tips and tricks to help you optimize your production, expand your menu, and earn more gold.
We’ll be covering everything from leveling up your stations to hiring more cats and unlocking new recipes.
Whether you’re a new player just starting out or a seasoned pro looking to improve your skills, a few tips and tricks are all you need to get started!
Prioritize Upgrading Stations
When it comes to Cats & Soup, it’s essential to recognize that investing your resources is key to success in the game. Upgrading your stations is one of the most effective ways to do this.
Not only does it increase their performance, but it also raises the prices of the dishes produced, helping you earn more gold faster.
If you cannot decide which station to level up first, then it might be a good idea to check the recommended upgrades button to make the most of your resources.
What To Upgrade?
While upgrading all facilities is important, it can also be advantageous to focus on a specific station after obtaining a significant amount of gold.
Specifically, focusing on upgrading the following cooking stations can raise the overall prices of all dishes on the menu:
Be aware that if you upgrade your cooking stations too quickly, your other stations may not be able to keep up with the increased demand.
It is best to balance and strategically plan your upgrades to optimize your resources.
Expand Your Menu
The game features a plethora of stations that can cook a multitude of dishes.
Instead of focusing on upgrading the facilities revolving around one dish, it’s better to put your eggs in multiple baskets – in contrast to the popular saying.
The reason for this is quite simple; some dishes are valued higher than others, while some are harder to produce than others.
Since upgrading your stations can become a bit too costly at some point it’s better to have multiple sources of income.
An opportunity lost can hurt your opportunity cost. Therefore, try to run everything parallel instead of aiming for a serial line of progression.
This comes with a bunch of risks:
Overcrowding: Planting too many buildings in a small area in Cats & Soup can lead to overcrowding and make it difficult for you to navigate through the space.
Financial strain: Building and upgrading too many facilities in Cats & Soup can put a strain on your finances, leading to financial difficulties.
Maintenance: Maintaining too many buildings in Cats & Soup can be time-consuming and require a lot of resources, leading to less time and resources available for other tasks.
Unbalanced gameplay: Building too many facilities of a single type (e.g., soup stations) in Cats & Soup can lead to unbalanced gameplay, making it harder for you to progress and achieve your goals.
Decreased profits: Building too many facilities in Cats & Soup can lead to oversaturation, resulting in decreased profits.
Save Up and Get More Cats!
Not only do you need to build and upgrade cooking facilities to produce dishes, but you also need cats to attend those facilities.
These cats are responsible for performing tasks such as chopping carrots, shredding cabbage, and blending juice.
Without enough cats, your facilities will not be able to run at full capacity, slowing down your progress and profits.
As you build more facilities, you will need to hire more cats to attend to them, which can be done by spending gold coins.
It’s important to balance your spending between upgrading facilities and hiring cats, as having both is crucial for a successful business. Each cat has their own level, efficiency, and cost, you can have different varieties of cats to help you in different stages of the game.
It is also important to keep in mind that as you progress and unlock new stations, they will require more cats to work on them, thus you have to make sure you have enough cats to hire to keep the facility running efficiently and maximize your profits.
Cats & Soup – List of Permanent Cats
Aside from the event-specific cats, the game features a list of permanent cats with their specific abilities, that can help boost your production output.
Understanding How The Gacha Works
This game works on a gacha system. You roll until the desired result shows up. However it can be a bit tricky when it comes to rolling cats:
Players can collect different breeds of cats to help them with their cooking facilities. The probability of obtaining a specific breed of cat is the same for all permanent breeds, with a 2.778% (or 1 in 36) chance of appearing.
This means that each permanent breed of cat has an equal chance of being obtained. When there are event-exclusive cats available, they have the same probability of appearing as any other cat.
When a cat is obtained, it is randomly assigned one main skill and one sub-skill. The probability of a specific skill appearing on a cat is equal for all main skills, with a 5.263% (or 1 in 19) chance.
There is also a 20% (or 1 in 5) chance that a sub-skill will appear. All sub-skills have an equal chance of appearing, with a relative probability of 3.333% (or 1 in 30). Additionally, cats come in different “star” ratings, with different probabilities of being obtained.
Cats with lower star ratings (1 star) have a higher chance of appearing, with a 40% probability, while cats with higher star ratings (5 stars) have a lower chance of appearing, with only a 2% probability. The probabilities for the star ratings are:
1 star: 40%
2 stars: 30%
3 stars: 20%
4 stars: 8%
5 stars: 2%.
Take Note of Stars and Happiness Metrics
A cat’s stars and happiness both play a role in determining the multiplier applied to the facility’s base sell price.
The higher the number of stars a cat has and the higher their happiness level, the greater the multiplier applied to the facility’s base sell price.
For example, if you had a three-star cat with five hearts of happiness assigned to the Chopping Carrots facility for soup, it would apply a specific multiplier to the facility’s base sell price.
This means that all the soups made from the facility will sell for a price that is x times higher than the base price of the soup.
Note that this multiplier applies to all the soups made from the facility, not just the one that the cat is assigned to.
It’s worth noting that a cat’s happiness is important for this calculation, it’s not just the number of stars that matters.
A cat with 4 star and 5 hearts of happiness would apply a greater multiplier than a cat with 5 stars and 3 hearts of happiness.
Cats & Soup: Beginner Tips
Level Up Your Stations Often
We are not the biggest fans of the phrase "you have to spend money to make money," but it has a literal meaning in Cats & Soup. If you wait around forever, putting off spending your gold coins on upgrades or new recipes, you will waste much more time.
Upgrading your stations and recipes increases the sale price of your dishes, thereby speeding up the process of saving coins.
When in doubt, the game provides a button in the bottom left corner showing a recommended upgrade station.
Prioritize Soup, Juice, And Grilling Stations
Universally upgrading your facilities is essential in Cats & Soup. However, there are benefits to prioritizing a single facility after receiving a large coin windfall. In particular, cooking facilities like the soup, juice, and grilling stations raise the base price of each dish.
In other words, Upgrading the soup facility will raise the price of all the soups on the menu, including carrot soup, cabbage soup, etc.
We recommend you perform this focused round of updates only on occasion . After all, if you significantly upgrade your cooking stations, you'll want to ensure your prep stations (i.e., carrot chopping, corn husking, etc.) can keep up.
Don't Forget Your Rest Stations
Do you know how hard it is to chop a carrot half your size? Even a kitty has got to relax sometimes. So while it might be tempting to pour all your resources into upgrading your cooking stations and soup pot, do not neglect to upgrade your rest stations.
Cats use the rest stations to generate energy, a currency spent on upgrading and buying new recipes. Unfortunately, energy is much harder to accrue than gold, so upgrade your rest stations often.
Save Up For More Cats
Find a balance between upgrading your current stations and saving up for new cooking facilities. Crafting a new facility, like a carrot chopping block or a juice blending station, will unlock a brand-new kitty friend for your forest.
Newer cooking stations also unlock recipes for higher-selling dishes like cabbage soup or juice. The sooner you acquire new recipes and the cats to make them, the more coins you will rake in.
Unlock The Bulletin Board
The bulletin board is another facility worth investing in early in the game. Once unlocked, the game automatically starts giving you "special order missions" to complete. These are essentially just mini-goals such as "Sell 3 Carrot Soup." Once the goal is met, you will get a little extra coin for your trouble.
The great thing about special orders is that you do not have to do extra work ! Instead, you will earn bonus coins whenever the cats happen to fulfill the mission's parameters.
Change The Background Music
Cats & Soup has some exceptionally well-made music for you to listen to while you watch your cats chop, shred, and stir. However, like any idle game, this music is on a loop and can grow repetitive after a while.
You will start to unlock some extra tracks as you progress through the game, and you can redeem these songs from the "BGM" selection in the menu in the bottom right corner or by tapping the radio icon in your Shade Tree station.
Additionally, you can buy songs with furniture coins.
Redeem Daily Bonus Gifts
There are quite a few buttons and menus to contend with in Cats & Soup, but do not forget about your first daily gifts! This is a daily log-in bonus that you can redeem once a day every week. You will automatically receive one bonus item for free.
You can find the 7 Days of Gift calendar icon in the top right corner .
If you see something you really want, you can unlock the extra daily bonus items by spending real-life money. Participating in these in-app purchases has no significant effect on the gameplay itself. Still, while 7 Days of Gifts events roll around often, you will not get an opportunity to get the same items again.

Look Out For Special Events
The 7 Days of Gifts is one event you'll encounter in Cats & Soup. However, the game also launches special events commemorating seasonal holidays or celebrating memorable landmarks. These events also grant prizes for no cost besides watching some ads first.
For example, the Black Friday event that takes place the week of US Thanksgiving rewards daily items similar to the 7 Days of Gifts event. The 30 Million Downloads event also provides up to sixty gifts (four per day)!
Check Off Your Achievements
While you can buy more gems in the shop to purchase things like cosmetics and unique facilities, you will slowly start earning gems by simply progressing. Check your Quests menu in the top right frequently to redeem bonus gifts.
Checking off Daily Missions rewards various bonuses, including gold or even ad tickets. On the other hand, completing Achievements will always reward gems. If you want to save up some gems, scroll through the Achievements list and see what you can tick off.
Unlock The Fishing Pond
One of the more essential facilities to save up for is the Fishing Pond. This is unlocked once you craft your corn-husking cooking station. You can catch fish in this pond that can feed any of your cats.
Every time you feed a cat, it will gain a heart. Furthermore, y our cat gains an additional buff with every heart, making fishing a crucial mechanic to Cats & Soup. However, you only have so many pieces of bait you can use before you have to wait for them to recharge, so be patient.
Unlock The Claw Machine
Another essential facility you'll wish to build is the Claw Machine game. This product lets you play a crane game to pick up additional coins, gems, and furniture tokens. Furthermore, the game is much easier than any crane game you've played in real life!
The claw machine can stock up to five plays at a time. Once your plays run out, you can earn more by watching ads or waiting for them to regenerate. In this regard, this facility is similar to the fishing pond.
Dress Up Your Cats
What would an idle cat game be if you couldn't dress up your kitties? The best part is that giving your cats outfits is more than cosmetics. Different clothing items have passive effects that can improve your cat's cooking performance and other stats.
So while you might think your Siamese would look the cutest with a little straw hat, you might want to reconsider giving it to your carrot-chopping kitty instead to maximize its effects.
The game's fine print states, "Passive effects are always applied, even if not equipped." Therefore, while improving your cat's wardrobe is crucial, they don't have to wear said clothes to enjoy its effects .
On the contrary, it's vital to craft your clothing items once they level up . This is because the clothing's effects do not activate unless you use the stocked materials to craft them.
Watch Frog Prince's Ads
No one likes watching ads. Luckily, the advertisements in Cats & Soup are not too pervasive, but it is still a mobile idle game at the end of the day. A few game mechanics reward you for watching ads, like the Jar Fairy, but the Frog Prince might be the most tempting.
The Frog Prince only appears when it is raining in-game and brings a gift of energy tokens. Of course, it is entirely up to you whether you sell your soul to the capitalistic machine, but in this case, doing so will help you save energy for new recipes and upgrades faster.
Dishes Unclaimed In Your Queue Drop In Price
If you're busy equipping your cats, upgrading facilities, or taking on another cat cooking responsibility, Cats & Soup offers the convenience of an automated order queue. Unfortunately, this convenience comes at a price.
