Using Guide

ChargePoint is the official app of the company of the same name, which manages charging points for electric vehicles in more than a dozen countries. This app will allow you to find the nearest charging point for your electric vehicle. In total, you will be able to see more than 400,000 active charging points, and you will also be able to check whether they are free or occupied instantly. In addition, although this is the official ChargePoint app, the map will also show the charging points of other companies.

To start using ChargePoint you do not need to be registered. You will be able to start using the app as a guest, being able to quickly check which charging points are near your location. However, registered users will find several additional advantages. The first and most important of these is that it will allow you to enter the information of your vehicle, to know if any of the charging points nearby are not compatible. Similarly, you can instantly know whether the chargers are AC or DC.

Another very interesting advantage for registered users is that they will be able to join the queue of a busy charging point. This way, even if you have several people in front of you, you will know exactly what time you have to arrive to start charging your vehicle, without having to wait in line. This will save you time and energy, as you will save at least one trip to the charging point.

Using Experience

You will find more benefits for registered users directly in your profile. From there you will be able to consult important information such as your charge history, your mileage and how much it costs you to make each trip. Thanks to all this information you will be able to know exactly how much money you are saving, if any. And, best of all, you can even access a section with tips on how to improve vehicle performance.

Download ChargePoint if you have an electric vehicle and want to get the most out of it. Thanks to this app, you will always be able to find the nearest charging point and you will have all the comfort you need to enjoy your electric car.

This app is really necessary in my area because there are a lot of ChargePoint locations nearby. It usually works fine, but sometimes it just won't start the charging session. I think it's because of a problem with the network connection at some of the charging stations. I think most of these stations use cell service for connectivity and the places where I have trouble starting the charging sessions probably have poor cell service.

So, here's what happened. I used a charging station, but it only worked for a minute before stopping. I wanted to stop charging through the app, but it kept saying I was still charging even after 12 hours passed. I reached out to support for help, but they weren't able to assist me. As of now, the app and website still show that I'm charging, so I can't use any other charging stations.

I typically use this app for my two home chargers. This means I need to have two separate Chargepoint accounts, one for each charger. It would be convenient if I could have two copies of this app on my phone so that both accounts are logged in simultaneously. Otherwise, I find myself frequently logging out and back in on one app to switch between accounts. It would also be helpful if the app could support having two accounts at once. I reached out to Chargepoint support about this five years ago, but I guess not many people have two home chargers like me.

ChargePoint is great! Almost always correct location, sometimes user tips guide you. Calls about down stations are quickly answered. Easy to see favorite stations when zoomed out, so I can plan errands. Convenient to start charging from the app in the car on a rainy day. Thank you ChargePoint!

This app and Chargepoint's charging stations are super important for me when I need to travel medium to long distances. The app is simple, has a nice design, and works without any trouble. It even sends me text updates about my usage and costs, which I find very handy. Besides that, it has other cool features too. Plus, the customer service is great! They're always there to help me out when I need it. The only downside is that sometimes it takes a bit long to get going, and once in a while it says that there are no charging stations nearby even though I know there are (maybe because of my filters?).

So, there's trouble with the app not linking up to the machine. And just because the customer service folks answer the phone, it doesn't always mean they'll be able to help you out. By the way, the closest spot for EV charging to LAX airport is at B&M. The app is giving a hard time connecting to the charging station. Plus, the touchless payment machine for charging isn't working either. On top of that, the small screen on the machine is facing the sun, making it super challenging to see any of the messages. The customer service team isn't much help either. They can't fix things from a distance, and when you call, they just put you on hold before directing you to the next Chargingpoint EV station. Doesn't sound like a pleasant experience at all.

I downloaded this app, signed up, and turned on NFC. I found a free charging spot, so I didn't have to enter any credit card information. I tapped my phone on the charger and it made a sound. I plugged in my phone and it started charging without any issues. However, the charging speed at this network is quite slow - only 6 kilowatts at 30 amps, which adds about 20 miles per hour. That's slower than charging at my home. It would take around 10 hours to add 200 miles of range.

I've only used the app for my ChargePoint Home unit. It's been fantastic! Setting it up was easy, and charging every day is a breeze. I appreciate the reminders to plug in, and I can input my energy provider and plan details into the app. It then calculates the best time to charge for cost savings automatically. I simply plug in, and the charger takes care of the rest.

So, I tried out this new App/Service called User Beware and found out that it needs to have some money in it all the time, but there was no warning about that when I set it up! Unlike with EVgo, where you can just use your debit or credit card right there at the charging station. I was using a rental car and needed to charge it up. But now, I have to reach out to customer support to get my money back since I didn't know about needing a minimum balance for the app. I'm pretty disappointed about the whole situation.

The app is really straightforward. You can easily find stations with the help of GPS. It deducts $10 from your credit card, uses it for charging, and then reloads it automatically. Just make sure your phone has NFC capability. The validation process is quick, only taking a few seconds. Plus, if the station prices are going to go up soon, the app gives you a heads-up. Once you're done charging, you'll get a summary of your session. The one thing I would suggest to improve is adding a feature that shows your remaining balance along with the charging summary.
