Checkers Variants

There is not only one way to play checkers. Everyone has different playing habits and people usually like to play the way they used to play, which is why you should play the game in the mode you like and are most comfortable with:

Draughts Checkers must capture when it can. Pieces can capture backwards. There is a "flying king", which means that the king can move to the upper right and lower left corners, and can move as many squares as there are no pieces blocking it.

Spanish Checkers is played according to the same rules as Draughts Checkers, but it cannot capture backwards.

English Checkers must capture when it can, and the pieces cannot retreat. There is no flying king, and the king can retreat and capture backwards.

Turkish Checkers Both white and black squares can be used. The pieces are placed in the second and third rows closest to you. The chess pieces can move sideways or forward, but not diagonally or backward. The king moves in a similar way to the queen in chess.
