WHY WE NEED LOCATION DATA

Chipolo uses location data to display the last known location of your Chipolo finder in the Chipolo app, to trigger Out of Range Alerts on your phone and to display your phone's location in the Chipolo web app, even when the app is running in the background.

FAQs

What is your return and refund policy?

If you are not satisfied with your Chipolos you can return your order for a full refund within 30 days of receiving your order. The order must be returned in good condition. If all these conditions are met, you will receive a full refund through your original payment method.

Chipolo reserves the right to decline a refund for orders that are returned past the 30-day return period and are not subject to our 2-year warranty.

Chipolo does not cover any return shipping fees.

Please make sure that all return shipping fees are paid in full. Any order returned with additional shipping charges will not be accepted and will not be issues a refund.

What is the difference between regular Chipolo finder, Chipolo Spot and Chipolo Point?

Chipolo finders are available in 3 different versions:

The regular Chipolo ONE key finder and Chipolo CARD wallet finders work with the Chipolo app on both iOS and Android devices. They are compatible with devices running iOS 14 and later, and devices running Android 9 and later.

Chipolo ONE Spot and Chipolo CARD Spot finders work with the Apple Find My app and can only be used on iOS devices like iPhone and iPad. They are compatible with iOS devices running 14.5 or later.

Chipolo ONE Point and Chipolo CARD Point finders work with Google’s Find My Device app and can only be used on Android devices. They are compatible with Android devices running 9 or later.

What battery does the round Chipolo key finder use?

The key finder uses a coin-shaped battery model CR 2032 that you can find in most shops selling regular AA batteries. When the battery runs out, you can replace it yourself in a few simple steps.

Is my phone compatible with Chipolo?

Regular Chipolo item finders are compatible with devices running iOS 14 and later, and devices running Android 9 and later. Chipolo Spot finders that work exclusively with Apple Find My are compatible with iOS devices running 14.5 or later. Chipolo Point finders that work exclusively with Google's Find My Device are compatible with Android devices running 9 or later. For all Chipolos to work, the device must also be equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 or newer.

How is this different from a GPS tracker?

If you want to see the location of an object or person (like your car, dog, child) at any time and also track their movement, you will need a GPS tracker, but it will be far more expensive and you’ll have to charge the battery often.

If you need something that will help you find an item that is usually just misplaced somewhere around you (like keys, wallet, backpack or hiding cat), a Bluetooth finder is the better choice, because it’s cheaper and you will have no hassle with the battery. Because of the limited range, you won’t be able to see the live location of your item if it’s too far, but you will be able to see where you had it last, so you can go back and retrieve it. And with Out of Range Alerts, Chipolo will even remind you to take your things with you, so you don’t leave them behind in the first place.

What is the range of Chipolo?

Chipolo works by connecting to the Bluetooth signal on your phone. Chipolo’s Bluetooth range can extend up to 200 ft (60 m) when there is a clear line of sight from your phone to the Chipolo.
