Detailed Overview

ColorNote® presents two primary note-taking layouts - a text option resembling lined paper and a checklist format. You can add multiple notes to your main list, displayed on the app's home screen every time you open it. This list can be sorted in ascending order, grid format, or by note color.

Writing Notes

With features akin to a basic word processing tool, the text option has no limitations on characters you can input. After saving, you have the freedom to edit, share, set reminders, or mark off/delete notes through your device's menu button. Checking off a text note results in a strikethrough on the title, visible on the main menu.

Crafting To-Do or Shopping Lists

In checklist mode, you have the liberty to include numerous items and rearrange their sequence using drag buttons accessible in edit mode. Once the list is finalized and saved, you can swiftly toggle a line slash to mark each item as complete or incomplete with a simple tap. When all items are checked, the list title also gets slashed.

FAQ

A widget suddenly stopped working. What can I do?

It is very likely that ColorNote has been moved to SD card due to insufficient internal memory. Since Android doesn’t support the widget and reminder functions for the app on SD card, move ColorNote back to the device and reboot it.

I forgot my master password. Can I open locked notes?

You cannot open or unlock a locked note without the master password. ColorNote doesn’t have an option to find the master password. This is to prevent others from accessing your locked notes. Even we cannot find your master password. ColorNote places heavy emphasis on security.

I reset my device. How can I restore my notes using online backup?

If you had signed up for online backup service, just sign in to online backup. If you had not signed up for online backup, you may be able to use device backup.

I forgot my master password used to back up notes to my device. Can I restore my notes?

You may be able to restore your notes with the following methods, but there is still a high possibility that you cannot restore the notes.

To restore notes in the case where the device was changed, try one of the following two methods:

Restore the file that was automatically backed up, because auto backup would not require the master password unless you have set ‘Secured auto backup’ on the previous device.

Use online backup. You can sign up for our online backup service on the previous device and sync notes to the new device.
