Wow! Among the many crossword apps on Google Play, this one really shines. While it may not have all the fancy extras some others boast, it offers a solid experience with handy inbuilt tools that you can customize to your liking. I don't miss social features as the app focuses on its main function. It doesn't limit you to just a couple of puzzles a day; new sets, both free and paid ones, are added frequently, so there's always something fresh to tackle. Plus, there's a huge collection of different sizes and difficulties to choose from, so you're unlikely to get bored. The developers listen to player feedback and create new sets accordingly. The ads are short and unobtrusive, and somehow they are integrated seamlessly. While you may encounter some repeated words in sets, the clues are usually different. And the best part is that the app works perfectly even when you're offline, giving you access to the entire puzzle library.

The app is pretty good. It's nice that it's free and you don't have to buy anything or watch too many ads. I wish that when you finish a puzzle pack, you could just move on to the next one instead of having to find it in the completed section. It would be great if the app suggested more packs from the same creator once you finish one.

I really enjoy the different levels that are available: easy, medium, hard. By training my mind to decipher clues, I am improving my puzzle-solving abilities. The "help" button doesn't just give me the answers easily, it actually prompts me to think in a strategic way for the next clue. I find these puzzles entertaining, and typically after completing about 3 or 4 easy sets, I challenge myself with a medium difficulty puzzle. I can see myself progressing and getting better at solving them over time.

A new puzzle app called Redstone is a good alternative to Shortyz. It has similar features like navigation, puzzle sources, and an ad-free experience. Shortyz, although no longer updated, is starting to show bugs. Redstone may have occasional ads, but with a one-time fee of $21, you can enjoy an ad-free experience. The puzzles in Redstone are of good quality, offering challenging medium and hard levels. Some users find it difficult to switch between down and across words, which was simpler in Shortyz by pressing the space bar.

The game is really enjoyable with plenty of challenging puzzles. They could be even tougher, but they're still a lot of fun. However, the cost to remove ads is too high, and I recently noticed that it got even higher! I'd be willing to pay a fair price to support the developer and get rid of ads, but the current asking amount is just too much for the limited benefits it offers... Update: The price for an ad-free experience has increased once more. It seems like this app is being sneaky with its pricing strategy, now charging $25 to avoid ads! It's evident they prefer ongoing ad revenue over a one-time fee. Sneaky tactics.

There are many puzzles of varying difficulties. I've been playing for months and they keep adding more. There are only a few ads. Good work!
