Find out how to apply to ride for Deliveroo from the app or on our website. You’ll need the right to work in your chosen country along with a valid motorcycle or car license and insurance (if you're not cycling), and we'll take care of the rest.

FAQ

How do I complete the identity check?

It's really important that we protect your account from anyone trying to access it without permission. To help do this we'll ask you to verify your identity by submitting a selfie through the app.

If you let someone else use your account to complete orders on your behalf (a substitute) you'll still need to complete an identity check yourself as the Deliveroo account holder, to prove you still have control of the account. 

To complete the identity check when it's required simply tap 'Verify your identity to go online' from the home screen. You'll need to successfully complete the identity check before you can go online.

If you still have any difficulty having your selfie recognised, you can request a manual review where one of our team will review your selfie to confirm if it's you. 

Your selfie will be compared to the selfie or photo ID you submitted during your onboarding.

If your identity has not been successfully verified you'll be unable to go online until you complete the check. You can tap the prompt on the home screen to complete the check. Once you've completed the check you'll be able to go online.

How can I change my vehicle type?

If you want to switch from a bicycle to a motorised scooter or car, you’ll need:

1. Food delivery insurance.

2. Provisional Driving Licence with CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) Certificate or full Driving Licence valid for your type of motorcycle.

3. Insulated backpack or box with a large thermal bag.

Why does my app sometimes log me out?

When we offer you a delivery, it will stay open on your screen. If you don’t respond, the system assumes you don’t want to complete it and offers it to another rider

If three orders in a row time out, we assume that you’ve left your status as online by mistake and we'll change your status to offline. Of course, you can go back online straight away if you wish.

If you no longer want to receive orders, you can go offline in the app. You can also reject orders, or choose to be unassigned.

Why is my rider account suspended?

If suspicious activity is detected on your rider account, which indicates potential misuse of the rider app, your rider account may be temporarily put on hold for your protection, whilst we look into it.

Examples of suspicious activity can include the manipulation of travel or location data in the rider app or behaviour that demonstrates there was no intention to ever deliver the order to the customer.

While your rider account is on hold, you’ll be unable to go online in the rider app to complete deliveries or use the cash out feature.

When suspicious activity is detected on a rider account, we make sure to treat each case with fairness and care throughout the process of investigating and reviewing access to the rider app.
