What is Digital Secure Safe Browsing?

Basic Digital Safe Safe Browsing:

Detects suspicious websites. When this occurs, you can choose to go back or proceed to the website.

Good to know: Premium Digital Secure Safe Browsing provides the same benefits as the basic subscription plus protection on your Windows or Mac devices.

How does Safe Browsing protect me against malicious websites and phishing attempts?

When you browse the internet using your smartphone's browser, Safe Browsing can either automatically identify and block malicious websites or warn you.

How do I turn off the Safe Browsing feature in the Digital Secure app?

Visit our How to Use Guide to learn how to disable Web Security.

Note: Use caution when turning off Safe Browsing, because you'll no longer be warned of risky websites.

There was a new app release that wasn't tested properly. Verizon started charging $5 per line, which used to be free for one line with 2 unlimited data plans. I got an alert about my driver's license using Verizon's Identify Theft Protection feature. Following Verizon's advice, I wrote to the Department of Transportation and they called me today. They said because of the detailed information, the NSA will get involved. It's a big problem for Verizon Wireless.

I don't like when my phone has unnecessary apps installed without my permission, especially when I can't uninstall them. It's frustrating that these apps take up space and can't be removed easily.

So, for almost a year, I never realized that Digital Secure was actually safeguarding my phone. Then out of nowhere, my phone starts acting weird. It won't connect to any Wifi, apps are constantly crashing, and some won't even open. I was clueless at first, but then I decided to uninstall all the glitchy apps, run a digital security scan, reboot my phone, and scan again. Could it have been Digital Secure? I believe it played a key role in resolving the issue.

I forgot to do the September update. I've seen a lot of comments from customers, and they all seem to mention that Verizon's responses are canned. What stands out is how condescending and passive-aggressive the replies are. It seems like they always ask the unhappy customer to contact customer care to explain their issue again. Shouldn't they acknowledge that it's a Verizon or digital secure problem from the start?

They want to use location but need permission, which I didn't give. The app uses Google maps, so not giving permission makes it only partly functional. If they stop relying on Google, I won't have a problem with the app. Right now, only half of it works, so I can only give it half the stars.

So, the last update on Google Play was back in September 16th. But today, on October 10th, I received a message saying my app is old. The app is supposed to keep things safe, not entertain me like Tetris. Also, sometimes after I restart my device, it doesn't kick in by itself. I have to remember to start it up manually.

For a long time, I had this app on my phone and only used the free services. Lately, it kept asking for an update, but I couldn't do it as it kept showing an error message. Despite that, the notifications were persistent and bothersome. Eventually, I got fed up and decided to delete the app. That's it for me!

It's frustrating that the tool doesn't let me see the scan logs. On one page, it says there are no threats, but on another page, it shows a number of threats without details. I prefer to have full visibility and control over what's happening on my device.

The app drains the battery and can be extended to other devices for $6.99 a month with just one click. Be careful not to tap on it by mistake as it will be automatically charged to your bill. I found out the hard way when I had to call to contest the charge, and only then did I realize it was a Verizon app. Disabling and force quitting the app seemed to have solved the problem.

It's a great app for people who need it, but not for me. I already use Norton to keep my phone safe.
