DIRECTV - TV streaming service

Service is usually fine if AT&T has an app that works with your TV. We had trouble with the Roku player before and now with our Android TV. They said there's no Google TV app, and I think they won't make one. The fix is to cast from the phone app to the TV, but it only works half the time. Sometimes it doesn't even show the cast option. Other apps like Netflix work fine though, just not AT&T.

Using this app is frustrating because I have to watch the same commercial repeatedly when trying to binge-watch. It annoys me how I have to endure watching Feeding America commercials during my favorite shows. Even though I pay for the service, it still has issues like freezing and restarting the commercials. I've reached my limit with this app.

The app and service have too many problems. The only reason I keep using it is because it's cheaper than other streaming services and offers the channels I want. However, it's almost not worth it anymore. I might be willing to pay more for a reliable service. For instance, I had the wrong local channels for a month and many others are facing the same problem. Updates for their apps on Android, Roku, and iPhone usually cause more issues than improvements. Now, I can't watch on my tablet in full screen because the volume/play controls and overlay always stay on the screen.

Facing same issue as others with the app on my phone. Location permission pops up briefly, then it goes to sign in screen and shows error about possible connection issue. After weeks of no help from Directv support, finally found solution through online search. Realized that username and password must be different for ATT and DIRECTV accounts. Same username is fine, passwords need to be unique. This fixed the problem for me.

The app is really not good and keeps having issues. It's been like this for months and it's frustrating. I often get error messages asking me to restart the app or my device, especially when I'm watching live shows. Sometimes local channels don't work, it's inconsistent. I usually watch on my Samsung smart TV. Try YouTube TV instead.

The app needs fixing for tablets. It only works in one orientation and the controls don't respond. I have to close the app forcefully when finishing a show. It's annoying. The app works fine on my phone, but I prefer a bigger screen. My tablet is new, so there shouldn't be issues like this.

My Chromebook is having a lot of glitches with the app. I struggle to open it, and sometimes it just closes on its own. It keeps saying I'm signed in on too many devices even though I'm not. The app is really annoying me. I'm not sure if it's not compatible with Chromebook or what's wrong. I always have to log out or uninstall and reinstall the app to temporarily solve these issues. I wonder if others are facing similar problems. This has been happening to me for a while now! >:(

The app was working fine, but after the latest update, there are some issues. When I have to leave a show and come back, it starts from the beginning and I can only skip ahead in 15-second intervals. I tried to watch a 2-hour show three times, but it kept restarting. The closed captioning and screen cast buttons don't work either. Sometimes when I try to skip or go back 15 seconds, it exits the show completely. Please fix it so it works like before.

I think this app is one of the worst I've used. I only stream to my Chromecast when I'm away from home. It buffers a lot and sometimes the audio is out of sync. Other apps like YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, jellyfin, MythTV, chrome browser, VLC don't have these issues. Even when I use a VPN to stream from my home server on hotel WiFi, there's no buffering. But with the DirecTV app, it's always buffering.
