At first, you and your opponents fight each other in a battle where you can defend or attack by moving circles that control your hands and lightsaber. You can personalize your lightsaber as you progress through the levels, just like in the existing game. However, instead of battling with a set lightsaber, you unlock parts to create your own unique lightsaber.
