DriveClub Beginner’s Tips

Become a racing legend

The first thing you’ll want to do when beginning a race is get a feel for the controls. Evolution Studios, who previously worked on the MotorStorm titles, did a good job nailing down how each vehicle is supposed to handle. Still, when it comes to reaching a high speed, you may need to take care around turns, as the game doesn’t have Forza Horizon 2’s sophisticated driving assists.

This should go without saying, but avoid colliding into objects on the side of the road, such as rails or signs, as they can penalize how many credits you earn in the race. Try and master the turn with an ample amount of braking, but don’t slam on the brakes completely unless your current piece of road calls for it. Opponents won’t hesitate to get past you.

In addition, don’t be afraid to drive defensively. Colliding with other cars won’t damage your ride too much, and the penalty is largely irrelevant. This is good to keep in mind when trying to maintain the lead, as you can effectively block adversaries and still keep an advantage. Just don’t let them try to run into you from the side, as you can spin out and lose the lead.

Learning how to drift

Drifting works differently in DriveClub than it does in other games, since Evolution Studios went for a more realistic approach. Ideally, you need to reach a decent speed and tap the handbrake to avoid spinning out.

For heavier turns, you’ll want to rely on typical braking so you don’t careen into the wall. Simply tap the emergency brake as you’re heading into the turn, and as you go into it, stop tapping and accelerate. As you do this, you’ll feel yourself going into the drift, but try to level out after the turn finishes, or you could end up going too far. This can take some practice, but keep in mind you can always restart a race if you feel you’ve made too many errors. You won’t lose money as a result.

Drifting is vital in DriveClub for two reasons. One, it’ll enable you to keep a good amount of acceleration, and considering the AI racers (and your online opponents) may be a bit merciless, it always helps to have the speed. Two, there are certain earmarked activities in each race, drift challenges being one of them, and you’ll be clocked based on how much time you spend in the drift. We suggest practicing as much as possible.

The game is great! It would be even better with a story mode where you can drift offline against an opponent like in Car X Highway Racing. Adding this feature would attract more players and keep them entertained. Please consider adding a story mode along with more car parts, vinyls, and tracks. Good luck with the game, keep up the good work!

The game is amazing because we can drive cars, trucks, helicopters, planes, and more. I have some suggestions for the game: add weather effects like rain, introduce new animals like birds, fish, etc., include customization options for boats, planes, and helicopters, consider adding a car-flipping feature, add a mini submarine, increase the number of AI slots to 8 or even 15. The game is already fantastic. Thank you for creating such an incredible game.

This driving game is top-notch! The controls are excellent, graphics are stunning, and the gameplay options are impressive. With drifting mode, time attack, training, multiplayer, and events, it has everything you could want. If you love cars, especially JDM models, you should definitely give it a try by downloading it.

The graphics in this game are really nice, so I think it could be really good. The only thing that bothers me is the ads. Every time you finish a level, there's an ad. And even when you're just roaming around freely, you still get ads. It seems like they just want to make as much money as possible from this game.

You gotta add police chase and offroad drive, this will make the game even more awesome.

Thanks for those frustrating ads. It's time to uninstall the game and make some modifications before leaking it on a public YouTube channel. 👍

I'm a big fan of this game! It's so smooth and has amazing graphics. The cars are the best to drive. Tried the multiplayer mode, loved it! Chatting with others is fun. Multiplayer Mode, Career Mode, and Free Mode are all great options. This game is the best! Thank you for creating it. Your service is truly appreciated. Thanks again!

The car graphics in the game are amazing, but overall it feels incomplete. The mechanics are not great – accelerating doesn't feel realistic. There's no sense of speed, which makes 100 mph feel like 40 mph. Plus, there's no backstory or character development, you're just thrown into the game. The sound effects are not very good or believable. And I'm not sure if there's a multiplayer racing feature. The loading screen says reputation will be difficult to gain, but the game is actually quite easy. It's all a bit confusing.

I really like this game, but there are some problems. When I use trailers to transport, it glitches a bit and makes my vehicle bounce, sometimes causing it to flip over. Also, I spent 120,000 coins on a car that flips over frequently, even without hitting anything. It's annoying and feels like a waste of coins. Please fix these issues. Thank you!

You love the game and want working gun turrets for all cars, which can be rotated with elevation to fire real ammunition. The turrets should damage other cars and help flip opponents. It should be easier and quicker to join online multiplayer matches. Include a free map with lots of purple coins to reach the required total.
