Five tips to get off to a good start in Empire: Four Kingdoms

Plan your city carefully

Before getting started constructing buildings and strengthening your defenses, it’s important to plan your city’s layout carefully. Make sure that your most important buildings, such as the castle, are in the center and surrounded by defense buildings. In Empire: Four Kingdoms, the relationship between buildings and the number of resources they generate doesn’t matter, so focus on making sure they’re well-defended. Don’t forget about public order either, which is maintained with a good level of decorative elements.

Keep your resources balanced

You’ll need to have enough resources to construct and improve your buildings. At the moment, there are three: wood, stone, and food. You must keep your resources balanced and not focus on producing too much of any particular resource. If you run out of a resource, your production and construction will stop until you can get more. Remember: a good way to get them is by attacking small forts.

Join an alliance

Joining an alliance is an important part of the game and gives you a lot of advantages, including additional protection and the ability to collaborate on special tasks and events. Troops are essential to defend your kingdom and attack other players. Make sure your troops have enough food to use them in combat (this is something you can see when recruiting new warriors). When you level up, you’ll be able to unlock new commanders and heroes, which are special units, as well as receive visits from mercenaries who don’t consume food and can anonymously attack other players if you hire them. Don’t forget that you can also spy on enemies before launching your attack— this is essential.
