Breaking news: statistics, leaderboards and achievements!

Roll the dice, move your pawn, buy properties, make deals, acquire monopolies, build houses and force your opponents into bankruptcy. All this and much more is made possible in Europoly, the real estate board game that you will adore.

Game instructions:

A Europoly game can be played by 2, 3 or 4 players. Each player has a pawn for traveling across Europe. If a pawn lands on an unowned property, they have the option to buy it or auction it. But if that property is already owned by another player, they must pay rent. The ultimate objective of the game is to stay financially stable while driving opponents into bankruptcy.

The board is tailored perfectly for your phone or tablet. The squares showcase European cities and airports, motorways, ferries, casino cards, lottery cards, and a jail. On their turn, a player with the lowest score rolls two dice and moves clockwise around the board. Whenever a player lands on or passes the Start square, they receive 5,000€. Rolling doubles allows a player to roll again. After three consecutive sets of doubles, the player must go to jail.

Cities are grouped by color. A player who owns all the cities within a group establishes a monopoly and gains the ability to build houses, thereby increasing rental income. Properties like transport squares cannot be developed, but owning multiple of the same type raises the rent received.

Players can generate funds by trading with others, selling houses, or mortgaging properties. Rent cannot be collected on mortgaged properties, but they can be unmortgaged by paying a specified amount to the bank. Failure to settle debts (even after selling houses and mortgaging properties) results in bankruptcy. The game winner is the last player standing after all others go bankrupt.

Europoly offers the option to play with bots or humans on the same device. The bots come with carefully crafted Artificial Intelligence, offering three different challenging levels. In the highest level, bots play aggressively and are formidable traders. The intermediate level sees them being more relaxed and offering better deals, while at the basic level, bots are softer, allowing you to negotiate advantageous deals.

Tips of how to win

The hint, is in the name of the game, and the implementation, is to never EVER buy hotels.**

That's right, you really should be gunning for a monopoly on houses. There's a limited supply of houses and hotels in the game by design, which means you can't just use popcorn kernels and Lego blocks for more. You're stuck with the 32 houses and 12 hotels that come in the game box. If you've successfully stayed ahead of the house race, implementing the strategies from the videos above of when to buy and when to hold cash on hand, you should be the first to hit that sweet spot of 4 houses on at least one monopoly. In order to buy hotels you'll have locked up 8-12, and you need to have 4 houses on properties before you're allowed to build hotels - which means if there are no houses left and your opponent is sitting at 3 houses on each of his properties, they are stuck there until more houses go on the market - they cannot ever get to the higher rents of hotels. You at 4 and your opponent at 3 is almost a certain victory as the game becomes a war of attrition.

Every hotel you buy reintroduces 4 houses into the supply, which means the real strategy is to build up to 4 houses, but never convert them into hotels. For trio sets, that's 12 houses, or 37.5% of the entire supply. Duo sets are 25% of the supply. This is also where my counter argument to the above videos that Mediterranean+Baltic should be in the Buy section of properties. Not because they are individually strong themselves - almost anyone can afford a hit from them unless they're really in bad way), but because of their value to quickly lock down the housing supply. $400 to lock down 25% of the housing supply is insanely cheap. Plus in the rare event someone lands on them, they basically pay for themselves.

** - Buying houses and hotels happens on your turn or between player turns, which means you can hold houses on Mediterranean+Baltic until you want to transfer them to another monopoly should you need to. This is the only time you'd convert to hotels, but you should only do so once you can afford to buy those houses back and put them on a more favourable monopoly before the next persons turn, as another player could them snatch them up after your turn but before the next player's turn. You don't want to introduce houses back into the supply! You shouldn't need to do this unless someone else has locked up a significant portion of the houses themselves on more valuable sets, and/or the housing supply has been depleted and you're in a losing position in the war of attrition.

TL;DR - (S)He who owns the House supply wins the game: Never buy hotels, just sit on 4 houses. Use Mediterranean+Baltic to lock up houses from the supply. Your goal should be to never let a hotel hit the board.
