To use the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app, you need to have a myGov account linked to your Centrelink online account. The app will then ask you to set up a myGov PIN. This is so you can log in to the app with your myGov account in future.

• Managing family income estimates and payment preferences.

    The systems are clunky and lack unity. It's frustrating - on my phone, I just type in a four-digit code to access the app, but the website insists on a security pin sent via SMS, all because the ATO is overly cautious about my identity! I receive emails, but no app notifications about new messages; however, I can't read them on the app anyway, so I have to go to the website. The government platforms need to sync up and be modernized. Who should take responsibility for this tech mess?

    This is so silly! Why fix something that's not broken? The new layout is really confusing. I used to depend a lot on the job diary feature, which has now disappeared. The directions are unclear. And there's all this extra information they're asking for now.

    The features don't usually work well, especially for reporting, which makes it simple for Centrelink to keep your payment. Just use the browser version instead (even though it's also a mess, but not as bad as this one).

    Using this app and the mygov website is incredibly frustrating. It's so annoying that it makes me feel like crying or breaking my phone out of frustration. I can't upload documents because it says there is a "screen overlay" issue, even though I've already turned it off in my settings. This just adds to the stress of being broke and needing to apply for payments.

    Every time I tried to access something, the app crashed in a different way. Uploading anything was impossible. I couldn't tell if Centrelink ever received my uploads. The app hardly provided new information. I had to use the browser or call them to check what should have been available on the app. The app's flaws became very obvious during the first Australian COVID wave.
