New Features

Filters are now just one tap away in the app. We moved the filters button to the bottom left corner of the screen in the app so you can easily set a filter. Next to the filter button, you’ll find the map settings button and the “go to my location” button. All three buttons can be hidden when not in use so they don’t take up space while you’re tracking flights. To show or hide the buttons, just tap anywhere on the screen. You’ll also notice a new red outline that acts a reminder that you have an active filter.

Flightradar24The filters button has been moved to the bottom left corner of the screen.

Saving a Filter

To save a filter, set the filter you want (more on that below) and tap “Apply”. Tap the filter button again and then tap Save. You will be prompted to give the filter a name, then tap “Save” to add it to your saved filters list. Below is an example for saving an Airline filter.

Filter Overlay

Also new is the ability to overlay filtered flights on all traffic. For instance, say you want to filter Aeroflot flights over Moscow. You can choose to see only those flights or you can view Aeroflot aircraft overlaid on all other traffic in the area. You can choose which view you would like when activating the filter. You can also toggle between views by tapping the button in the bottom right corner of the screen after you’ve applied the filter.

Flightradar24You can now overlay filtered flights over all traffic.

Types of Filters

Speed

Filtering for speed is as simple as using the sliders to choose the range for which you’d like to filter. Depending on which units you have selected, you can filter in knots, miles per hour, or kilometers per hour.

Flightradar24Set speed filters by adjusting the sliders.

Altitude

Similar to speed, filtering by altitude is accomplished by moving the sliders to the range you’d like to see. The minimum altitude selectable is 0 feet/meters and the maximum is approximately 65,000 feet/19,000 meters. Altitude filtering can be used to view different kinds of traffic, such as setting filters for higher altitudes to see business jet traffic.

I can totally relate to what you're saying! The ads on that app are just super annoying. It's like they come out of nowhere, taking over your whole screen with loud sound effects. I hate it when my phone suddenly starts blasting obnoxious music from some random ad. It's definitely one of the most irritating experiences I've had with ads.

I found Flightradar24 online about a year ago, and now it's just something I do every day. I didn't download the app for a while because I thought I might get too obsessed with it. But it's actually really fun to use, even the free version is pretty awesome. I've thought about upgrading, but for now, I'm happy sticking with the free version that has ads.

This app I downloaded is possibly the coolest ever! It's making me into a bit of a plane enthusiast. Ever since I was young, when I saw a plane fly over my house, I always wanted to know where it was coming from and where it was going. Now this app gives me all the answers! Super helpful. It’s also great for picking someone up from the airport. You can track when their flight is landing and time your pickup just right to avoid crazy parking fees.

So, there's this app that helps you get info on different aircraft, right? Well, one issue is that when you try to tap on a specific plane for more details, the app seems a bit off. Instead of selecting the exact aircraft your finger is touching, it ends up highlighting one slightly nearby, like about an eighth to a quarter of an inch away. And just to clarify, it's not a problem with your phone because other apps work perfectly fine. Besides that little hiccup, the app is pretty awesome. The only thing is they keep adding more features that you have to pay extra for as time goes by.

I really love this app! I often fly standby when I travel, so having this app is super handy. The best part is that it offers a free service option and there are no annoying pop-up ads. I enjoy the 3D viewing feature, although it's a bit limited in its functionality. You do have the choice to pay a small monthly fee for more options. One thing I wish they had included is the ability to view your travel plans offline when your phone is in airplane mode. Sure, some airlines offer internet for a fee, but when you're retired like me, those extra charges aren't a priority. Overall, I'm grateful for this awesome service. Thank you!

The free version basically does what you need - you can check out flights and get some basic information about them. I personally enjoy using it when a plane flies overhead, as I find it fascinating to know its origin and destination. This app is also handy for casual plane enthusiasts who enjoy spotting them for similar reasons. Being on mobile makes it super convenient to instantly find out which plane is arriving or departing. As for the premium features, I haven't paid for them so I'm not certain about their status.
