How to Fix Your Android Phone Not Playing Music

Step 1: Check Your Volume

The first step in troubleshooting your Android phone not playing music is to check your volume settings. Sometimes the volume may be turned down, or the phone may be on silent mode. To check your volume settings, simply press the volume up button on your phone, and if the volume is turned down, you will see a volume bar on the screen. Alternatively, you can go to your phone’s settings and check the sound and notification settings.

Step 2: Check Your Headphones

If you are using headphones to listen to music, then the issue may be with your headphones. Try using a different pair of headphones to see if the issue is resolved. If the problem persists, try cleaning your headphone jack with a soft cloth or brush to remove any dirt or debris that may be blocking the connection.

Step 3: Reboot Your Phone

Sometimes, simply rebooting your phone can fix the issue of your Android phone not playing music. To do this, press and hold the power button on your phone, and then tap on the Restart option. Once your phone has rebooted, try playing music again to see if the issue has been resolved.

Step 4: Check Your Music App

If your Android phone is still not playing music, then the problem may be with your music app. Try opening a different music app to see if the issue is with the app or your phone. If the issue is with the app, try clearing the app’s cache and data by going to your phone’s settings, tapping on Apps, selecting the music app, and then tapping on Storage. From there, tap on Clear Cache and Clear Data.

Step 5: Update Your Software

If your Android phone is still not playing music, then the problem may be with your phone’s software. Try updating your phone’s software to the latest version. To do this, go to your phone’s settings, tap on System, and then tap on Software Update. If there is an update available, download and install it.

Step 6: Factory Reset

If none of the above steps have worked, then the final resort is to perform a factory reset. A factory reset will erase all data and settings from your phone, so make sure to back up your important data before proceeding. To perform a factory reset, go to your phone’s settings, tap on System, and then tap on Reset Options. From there, tap on Erase All Data (Factory Reset) and follow the on-screen instructions.

Overall, an Android phone not playing music can be a frustrating issue. However, with these troubleshooting steps, you can fix the issue and get back to enjoying your favorite tunes. Remember to always check your volume settings, headphones, and music app before resorting to more extreme solutions like rebooting or factory resetting your phone.

Great app! There are some ads but they're not too bothersome. You can download a set number of songs each day, but if you watch an ad, you can download more – up to 20 extra songs by watching 4 ads. Plus, the more ads you watch, the more songs you can download! Remember to create playlists for continuous playback.

The app is awesome. I think it's even better than Spotify. It's similar to having free YouTube Premium, just that a few videos may not be there. You can watch videos with your screen off and no ads will interrupt your music. Creating playlists is possible, and the latest video you add becomes the playlist cover. The app plays the video within itself, which is fantastic! You can download the audio for your videos, but it doesn't always work. All in all, this app is great!

I found this music downloader app that was supposed to be really good. I could search for any song and listen to it before downloading. But then it turned out to be bad because it wouldn't let me download any songs. It kept showing an error message saying "something went wrong, tap to retry," but even after tapping several times, nothing happened. I think it only deserves one star.

I found what I needed! The interface is awesome and downloading songs is a breeze. Everything can be found through search. And getting 20 songs per ad is fantastic! (5 stars) Update: (7 months later) Asking for more permissions has made the app worse. Now, a miniplayer pops up when a song plays and turning it off stops the music/video. Rating reduced to 4 stars.

I love this app so much! It's the best one out there for me. I've had it on a few different phones now and honestly, nothing else compares on mobile devices! You can do so much with it like listening to music, downloading MP3s, watching videos, downloading MP4s, and even importing playlists from YouTube. Plus, if you use your Gmail account, the music you listen to on this app can be suggested to you on YouTube. With this app, you can watch or listen to anything, even if it's restricted on other apps on your device. And the best part? It's all completely free! No need to spend any money at all. It's just perfect for me! 😂🚫💵😭
