CONS

Functionality is useless

Android already give data usage features for free

GlassWire is the ultimate data usage monitor for Android! Our app makes it easy to monitor your mobile data usage, data limits, and WiFi network activity.

Instantly see what apps are slowing your phone’s internet connection or wasting your mobile data.

How does it work?

This application sends a small amount of data to your mobile device every second. This data contains information about your mobile device, such as its model and manufacture, its operating system, its version, and its language. This information is not used for any purpose other than to keep your device informed about its usage.

This application does not require any additional permissions. It is free to download.

Key features:

• GlassWire’s data alerts keep you under your data limit and save you money on your monthly phone bill. Get alerted before you reach your carrier data limit to avoid overage fees.

• See a graph of which apps are currently using your mobile carrier data or WiFi internet connection.

• Instantly know every time a new app accesses the network and begins using WiFi or mobile data.

• Swipe right to go back in time to see which apps used mobile data earlier in the week or month. See past WiFi or mobile usage by day or month.

• Go to GlassWire's "Data Plan" screen to set up zero-rated apps that won't have their data usage counted against your data plan. GlassWire can also keep track of roaming and rollover minutes. Create a data usage widget.

• Check GlassWire’s Speed Meter on its notification bar to quickly see real-time data usage.

• Help protect your privacy and reveal suspicious app activity through GlassWire’s graph.

• Block apps from connecting to the network, or allow or deny new connections before they start with GlassWire’s mobile firewall. Create multiple firewall profiles, one for mobile and one for WiFi.

• Have an unlimited plan? Unfortunately, most ‘unlimited’ plans will throttle you (slow & limit your connection) once you use a certain amount of data. GlassWire can alert you when you start to get throttled.

Protecting your privacy – 20 million users protected!

Our Windows and Android software combined have been downloaded over 20 million times! We make money through sales of our GlassWire for Windows software, not by selling your data to third parties. With GlassWire, your data and app usage information never leave your phone. GlassWire will NEVER show you ads or violate your privacy.

Instantly block badly behaving apps with GlassWire’s firewall

Instantly allow or deny new app connections with GlassWire’s new mobile firewall. The Firewall feature is based on a VPN connection (VpnService API) that GlassWire creates to block connections from unwanted applications. GlassWire never uses your personal information for commercial purposes, advertisement, or shares it with third parties.

Supported mobile networks & providers

GlassWire’s data manager features work great with many different mobile data providers and telecoms worldwide including Verizon, T-Mobile, Vodaphone, AT&T, Sprint, Magenta, and Jio. It’s also compatible with 3G, 4G, 5G, Edge, GPRS, WiFi, and most other popular telecommunications networks. GlassWire can also provide you with internet usage alerts if your cable, DSL, or satellite ISP has data caps.

Bug & problem reporting

Find a bug or another problem? Go to the bottom right three-line menu button inside the GlassWire app, then choose “Send Feedback” with debug logs so we can fix the problem.

Thanks for trying GlassWire. We hope we helped protect your privacy along with saving you money in the process.

Sincerely, The GlassWire Team

You've been using this app for a while and you really liked it. However, when the most recent update came out, you were unhappy because all of the purchases you made before were no longer there. You're now stuck with the basic version of the app and if you want to get back all the features you had before, you have to buy them again, even the yearly subscription. It's good that there are still no ads, though. You didn't get a new phone, just updated the app. But you'll try the "fix" to see if it helps. Update on that: you got back your wallpaper, but not the firewall.

I've been using Glasswire for years and it's been awesome. But I paid for the Premium subscription in January and now all those features are free. Seems like they were planning this change from the start of the year. Can I please get a refund for my subscription fee?

There's this cool app that lets you easily check your data usage information. I really like how I can see exactly how much data is being used in the moment just by swiping down my notification bar. You can even find out which apps are using data and Wi-Fi separately, and it breaks it down by dates. I signed up for the app and I use it almost every day to keep track of my data usage on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

I would give it 5 stars because it's top-notch in quality, fulfills its purpose well, and appears very impressive while doing so. I absolutely think the Night Neon skin is worth the money. One idea that comes to mind, which might have been mentioned earlier, is a feature where you can easily access the Bandwidth Speed Meter without interrupting your video, game, or other applications by adding a toggleable overlay. Thank you for creating such a valuable app for all of us. We truly value your dedication and effort.

I really like this app. There are no ads, which is great. I love that it shows data usage for each day. It helps me figure out the days when I use the most data. This way, I can manage my data allowance more effectively. The app is very accurate. I usually rely on the data meter from my internet service provider, but I needed something more detailed. This app provides just that without any bugs.

The app looks pretty clean and neat. However, there are some important issues. There are no custom data alerts available, the data plan graph is a day short - it says March 8th through April 6th instead of through April 7th. Custom data graph dates don't seem to work properly, and the data plan graph doesn't separate mobile and wifi usage. Also missing is an at-a-glance usage graph like in My Data Monitor. On a positive note, they did introduce a cool new theme. In general, it seems like this version is still in beta testing.

The free version doesn't include the features you want. To access those, you'll need to subscribe. However, I'm willing to buy the 'Pro Features' just once. I don't fancy subscribing, even if it's just $4.99 a year now. But what if the price goes up next year and my card gets charged automatically?

GlassWire has a cool app control feature, but sometimes it can get stuck because it uses up the VPN slot. Also, memberships for PC don't work on Android devices. The live view feature can be unreliable and needs experimental mode quite often. It's tricky because you can't open apps directly, making it hard to spot any 'unknown' ones that pop up on the list of current data-using apps. This makes it tough to block them.

I am starting to really like this product more and more as I use it. You are close to getting 5 stars from me. If you can answer these two questions for me, I will give you the full 5 stars. First question: How do European telecom operators work with GlassWire? Do they have any issues, like in the US when using GlassWire? Second question: Can you make sure that the buttons for the firewall actually work or clearly indicate that they don't turn on, even though the firewall seems to be working fine without showing that indication?

You can stop apps from going online, but a notification always shows how much data is used. To get rid of this, I turned off the notification permission in the Android system settings. The app doesn't have a built-in feature to disable notifications.
