Google Slides app guide

Upload images and content directly into your presentation

One of the key features of Google Slides is that it is easy to simply copy and paste an image or piece of content you find from a webpage directly into your presentation. The challenge using this method though is that webpages from external websites can move content, change servers, run into errors, and could shut down over time. This can affect how your images or content you've copied from a webpage work in your presentation, as it can cause errors or images/content can become unable to display over time.

We recommend saving any image or content from an existing source and uploading it directly into your Google Slide presentation. This way the content is managed from your Google Drive account and no longer relies on the existing source to use it.

Please note, the use case of background images can tend to cause problems with slide optimization and playback over time. We recommend limiting the use of or removing background images from your slides completely while using the Google Slides app with ScreenCloud.

Google Slides

Avoid using embedded videos, animations (.GIF), or special effects/transitions

ScreenCloud's Google Slide app currently does not support the following:

Embedded videos to autoplay

Animation images (.GIF)

Special effects and transitions between slides

While you can have this content in your presentation, the Google Slides app will not be able to load this content properly. We recommend removing any embedded videos, opting to upload the video you'd like to use as an MP4 file directly into ScreenCloud, or by using our YouTube or Vimeo app for streaming video.

We also advise removing any animations (.GIF) from your presentation as ScreenCloud is not able to display these file with Google Slides. Please see How to Display GIFs with ScreenCloud to learn which apps can display GIFs.

Any other special effects or transitions you can keep in your slides, though they will not appear while using the Google Slides app, so we recommend that you avoid using them.

Using this app is a piece of cake. You can easily connect it to your drive without any hassle. It loads quickly, so you don't have to wait around. Although there aren't many options for customizing, it's still a great app for those of us who are light users.

Viewing slides on Google Slides is great, but trying to edit them can be really frustrating. Copying and pasting just doesn't seem to work smoothly, selecting items is difficult, and even deleting things can be a struggle. Honestly, if Google Slides' mobile app isn't geared towards editing, they should be upfront about it rather than having users discover the limitations themselves. When I need to make changes on-the-go, I now opt to draft my content on Google Docs and transfer it over to Slides when I have access to a computer.

I think the best mobile app for team collaboration is Google Slides. It's super user-friendly and easy to use. When you're working on a project with your team, any changes made to the file are instantly updated in real time on everyone's devices. This makes it really convenient for everyone to stay on the same page and work together seamlessly.

Oh no! So, I had this really cool setup where I used to link specific slides to QR codes to create an inventory of all my items for storage and moving. It was so handy because I could easily search for things or just scan a code to know what was in each box without actually opening them. But now, for some frustrating reason, I can't link to specific slides anymore, and it's really getting on my nerves.

This app is pretty handy for schoolwork, presentations, and making other cool stuff. However, the reason I only rated it 4 stars is because Android users don't have the option to change the background. It's a bummer that I can only insert an image and then shuffle it around. Kind of unfair how this feature is only accessible on iPads and iPhones. I struggled quite a bit trying to switch up the background but eventually threw in the towel and settled for a black theme on the slide I was working on.

I really enjoy using Google Slides because it's super user-friendly, just like all the other Google apps and services. The best part is there are no annoying ads! It's awesome that multiple people can collaborate on a presentation at the same time. And there are even more useful features that I can't mention them all here. As a student, I find Google Slides to be incredibly convenient and helpful.

I love this amazing presentation software from Google! It seems like Google's way of competing with Microsoft PowerPoint, the top-notch, innovative program in the market. Google Slides makes it easy to sync files across different devices and offers a variety of fantastic theme templates. My favorites are the orange template with duct tape accents, and the bright blue theme inspired by Twitter's color. The background images and fonts are so unified and eye-catching!
