HappyCow is an app and website listing vegan and plant-based businesses around the world in 180 countries. Like Google and other search platforms, it shows you options nearby based on filter criteria. However, every business listed on HappyCow offers at least 1-3 vegan options or products. Our mobile app has been downloaded more than 3 million times, and each month more than 1 million use the platform.

- What is HappyCow’s story?

HappyCow was created in 1999, by Eric Brent, as a public resource project to help vegans and vegetarians find food while traveling. Built-from-scratch by dedicated friends, it increasingly gained momentum and became a top-rated, award-winning mobile app, global community, and extensive worldwide database. It’s now the biggest platform for vegan and plant-based food on the planet! 🌏

- Why should I create an account?

Registered users (members) can do more things on HappyCow than non-registered users. Registered users can leave reviews, upload photos, save spots to Favorites, create Trip lists, connect with other members, and earn points for being active on the platform. 🤓

- How do I change my profile picture?

Log in and head to “My Profile”. From there, you can change your profile picture by clicking the purple camera icon on the top right of your avatar and selecting a new image.

- Why is my birthday required for me to register for an account?

For legal reasons, we need to confirm that all users who join are over 13 years of age. We’ll also use your birthday to confirm ownership of your account in case you lose access to it.

- How do I send an update for a listing already listed on HappyCow?

To send an update for a listing on HappyCow (for example: change of hours, new location, change of menu, change of veg status, closure, etc.), please use the “Update This” button at the bottom of your listing page. We appreciate all of your updates!
