GAME REVIEW
Attention, rhythm lovers and explosion lovers! Today I want to recommend a super exciting rhythm parkour game that makes me "laugh and explode" - "Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story". Yes, you heard it right, this game is not only full of rhythm, but also brings new tricks to the familiar League of Legends universe!
The first time I started the game, I knew: this is not an ordinary parkour game, this is a perfect combination of rhythm and chaos! You play the "explosion maniac" Ziggs, running all the way through the streets of Piltover full of technology, lighting the fuse while creating "rhythmic" disasters to the beat of music!
The biggest highlight of the game design is that it does not rely on "reaction speed" at all, but relies on you to blow things up to the music! Jumping, throwing bombs, sliding, every action is on the rhythm, combined with gorgeous explosion special effects and background music, it really feels like I am holding a concert + blowing up the scene. The more rhythmic the explosion, the higher the score - it's simply the Ziggs version of "electronic fireworks show"!
And the game also adds a system that I like very much: Freestyle Mayhem! What does it mean? You can improvise a bomb show in the gap. As long as the bomb is cool and accurate enough, the score and the cheers of the audience (although they are virtual) will come in waves. There is really a sense of accomplishment from the bombing of a "casual artist"!
Of course, the old acquaintance Heimerdinger is not absent. This guy chases you while trying to "scientifically correct" your chaotic behavior. So each level is like a **music war of "science vs. chaos"**. You have to avoid the traps he sets while bombing things. It's just the right amount of excitement!
In terms of visuals, "Hextech Mayhem" is completely the ceiling of "explosion aesthetics". The whole Piltover was blown up in a colorful way, with pipes splashing and flames everywhere. Every second is like setting off fireworks during the Chinese New Year! Coupled with Ziggs' exaggerated movements and expressions, coupled with dynamic music, the whole game experience can be summed up in four words: happy explosion!
Here comes the point: Although this game has a strong rhythm, the entry threshold is very low. You can find the feeling after one or two levels. After that, it depends on whether you can play with style and tricks! Players with a strong sense of rhythm can even choreograph a set of "bomb dance" by themselves. I recorded a few Freestyle continuous bombing videos myself and prepared to make a short video to show off my skills 😎💣
