Both the person sending the message as well as the person receiving it need to have the app installed in order for it to work properly. If you don't have Internet access at a given moment, any messages your contacts send you will be saved for the next time you're able to connect.

Before starting to use the app, you'll need to choose which level of privacy to apply to your account. The highest level limits you to communicating with users that you have contacted yourself, while the lowest level allows your Facebook and Twitter contacts to leave you a message.

Choose from 3 privacy levels regulating how users can contact you without an invite:

- Low privacy: All Facebook friends and Twitter followers can contact you, along with those who have your phone number or email.

- Medium privacy: All Facebook friends, Twitter friends, and friends of HeyTell contacts can communicate with you.

- High privacy: User-initiated or accepted contact required, unless via Twitter, Facebook, email, or SMS invite.

* Optionally share location with select contacts during conversation (requires MAPS page opened)

✳ TIP: Hold conversations for offline playback, or delete as desired. Long-press on conversations or messages to access additional options like View, Delete, and Export.

* All transmitted data and audio are encrypted for security

* Toggle between earpiece and speakerphone modes for calls

* No need to share personal information for connecting with HeyTell users.

✳ TIP: Back up your account to retain contacts when changing phones or updating ROMs. Access Backup options via Menu > Settings > Privacy or Backup & Sync.

* In case of "INBOX FULL" message, wait for recipient to respond before continuing messaging

NOTE: Carriers may apply charges for SMS invites; however, email invites and direct connections with other HeyTell users are free via phone, email, Twitter, and Facebook.
