Idle Healing: Build Your Dream Mental Hospital Tycoon!

If you love management and hospital games with a twist of idleness, then this tycoon game is tailored just for you. In this game, you have the opportunity to establish your very own mental hospital, engage in patient rehabilitation, and generate income with just a touch of idleness.

Just like in typical tycoon games, you start off small with only a few wards and a handful of patients. Your objective is to create a nurturing environment within the hospital: take care of your patients, ensure they are well-fed, provide them with clean clothes and showers, and ensure they receive adequate rest. Managing these tasks is made easy with the simple controls and idle features integrated into the game.

Help in the healing process and discharge your patients successfully. The more patients you cure, the more money you will earn. Remember, your main goal is not only to provide assistance but also to amass wealth.

Run your hospital like a tycoon, incorporating the idleness factor by hiring cooks, cleaners, orderlies, and doctors. Keep an eye on the calm levels of your patients to prevent any potential disturbances, as chaotic situations might lead to your orderlies having to chase after patients attempting to escape, turning it into an adventurous idle experience!

Idle Mental Hospital Tycoon Beginners Guide: How to heal the sick efficiently and profitably

How to build the mental hospital

So, with that in mind, how would you go about building the hospital, to manage profit and patient satisfaction?

Firstly, the patient’s blocks do not only serve to increase your profits, but they can also increase a few of the patient’s satisfaction levels through a comfortable bed and clean toilet, so prioritizing their blocks from the get-go will increase your profits whilst also making the patients happy. If possible, upgrade evenly and as much as you can. The more profits you make, the quicker you can upgrade the rest of the hospital and the more staff you can hire.

Once the blocks are about halfway upgraded, as indicated through the bar above each block’s menu, I would start to look elsewhere. Do not build new blocks yet, as tempting as it may be. You must check these things first before you build any new block at any point in the game:

- Can my kitchen provide enough servings for my patients?

Are my janitors managing to clean the hospital?

Are there enough showers for my patients?

Are there enough activities in my courtyard for each patient?

You may want to check these things regularly even whilst upgrading the blocks. If these factors falter, then you’ll have insane patients on your hands in no time. If your nurses cannot contain the insane prisoners, then a special team will extract the patients. You will not get paid for the departure of insane patients, nor will you get paid upfront for their replacements. Additionally, you will have to hire new nurses, so making sure you meet those requirements is paramount.

The kitchen is one of the most important things on that list, so make sure that there are enough servings. Hungry patients are never good news! Hygiene is easy to control, provided each prisoner has access to something in the shower block during their allocated showering time. If not, then they won’t get a chance to seriously increase their hygiene for the day.

With the yard, at the early stages, don’t worry about upgrading things, just build new activities for all of the patients to be occupied. As long as each patient can do something, their happiness will increase. I would heavily suggest that, for the first hospital, you only build a new block when all of your previous blocks have been fully upgraded. That way, your revenue can support the new mouths to feed and bodies to wash, and you can support a larger number of workers to keep up with the demands.

How to manage the workforce

There are four types of staff available to you in the first mental hospital, builders, nurses, cooks, and janitors. Builders are purely for your own convenience, allowing you to build things faster. Early in the game, there is no need to worry about this, so don’t waste money hiring more.

Nurses are responsible for bringing new prisoners in and showing prisoners out, as well as taking care of insane patients. I would suggest, for a safe and efficient hospital, having around at least half of your patient’s worth in nurses. If you are tight on money, and your patients are satisfied, then you can get away with only a quarter of your patient’s worth in nurses, as long as you invest in the nurse’s lounge to prepare them for potential conflict down the line.

Cooks will prepare and deliver food to your patients. As long as you can see the cooks managing to prepare enough servings, then you won’t have to worry about the number of cooks. Just don’t buy a whole bunch of cooking stoves for only two cooks!

Janitors clean the prison. This is imperative for maintaining a high hygiene rating for the prisoners. They will also sort out the laundry when you construct the laundry building. For starters, don’t worry about them too much, but do invest in them if your patients’ hygiene stays low and if you need more hands to help with the laundry.

You love the game, though there are a few issues you face. Your workers stop building when you're not playing, meaning your new sector progress falls behind as you can't keep the game open constantly for 6 hours straight. To speed up the process, you'd need to spend nearly 60 dollars worth of gems for just one building. That seems quite expensive! Furthermore, the ad you watched promising to double your income turned out to be a letdown as it didn't actually double your earnings. Now, the timer for more ads is stuck at 15 minutes and won't let you watch any to boost your income further.

I really like this game, especially the tycoon part. It was easy when I first started playing, but sometimes it can get a bit challenging. Overall, it's not bad at all, which is why I gave it a perfect 5-star rating.

The game's potential is great, but the number of ads is overwhelming. If you want to progress quickly, you have to watch ads, which is fine. What's not fine is the constant ads that pop up every two minutes with no benefits. It's annoying and ruins the gaming experience. My advice is to buy the game for $10 if you want to enjoy it without interruptions.

This game is really adorable, but there are so many ads and the items for purchase are just too pricey. I think apps should be more like a garage sale, you know? A dollar for this, a couple bucks for that. It's way simpler to just say "no thanks" and go to a cheaper sale. I could spend $40 to do well in this game and avoid all the annoyance, or I could just play a different game. Having to watch ads to move forward in the game is just not okay with me.

I really enjoy how you can finish tasks to unlock new features, plus there are no annoying advertisements. If you need more money, you can just wait for a while and watch an ad. It's so easy and entertaining!

I tried this game and had a blast playing it. The various features it offers keep you engaged unlike similar games in the same genre. There were no issues with intrusive ads; they only appeared when I chose to watch them for a reward. The one downside I found was that the game seemed to glamorize mental health problems. I'm sure the developers didn't mean to do that, and I also think it could serve as a way to raise awareness about mental illnesses. Apart from that, I would give it a solid 5-star rating for providing an enjoyable gaming experience.

There's some potential in the game but there are definitely a few bugs that need fixing. Occasionally when I watch ads for rewards, I don't always get them, and sometimes I have to watch multiple ads just to receive something. The build times also seem to have issues - I left the game with only a couple of hours left for a new sector to be built, but when I returned around 10-12 hours later, it still showed 20 minutes remaining. It's a bit frustrating dealing with these bugs, but I'll keep playing nonetheless.

I enjoyed playing this game so much that I was willing to pay the high fee to remove ads and complete it. However, in the final hospital, everything seems to be really messed up. The game balance assumes you will earn money from new rooms, but the patients never update their schedule to go there. It's too costly to keep fixing things that the supposedly satisfied patients keep breaking. Also, the double profit button boosts my earnings fourfold, but it only works randomly. Moreover, the notifications are not functioning properly.

I found this free game to be quite impressive in terms of graphics and gameplay. Although there are ads, some are a bit bothersome but opting to watch them offers valuable rewards, so it doesn't bother me too much. I really like how the game combines elements similar to The Sims with tycoon mechanics. It's enjoyable to manage finances and determine priorities while observing the activities and requirements of patients and staff. The difficulty progression seems reasonable, especially when I take advantage of the option to double income by watching ads.
