Tap the app icon to open Imgur on your Android phone or tablet.

If you want, you can sign in or create a new account once you open the app. However, you’re not required to create an account in order to start uploading images.

4. Tap a thumbnail to use an image from your camera roll. Underneath the buttons at the top of the new post screen, you should see a series of tiled thumbnails of images and videos from your camera roll. If you’d like to use one of those instead of taking a new picture, simply tap the thumbnail(s) of the image(s) you’d like to upload.

You can also select the Gallery dropdown menu at the top of the screen to browse the different albums on your tablet or phone, including your camera roll, downloads, files, and posts you’ve shared on social media.

5. Select Next to start editing your post. After you select one or more pictures to upload, tap the green Next button in the top right corner of the screen. This will take you to a new screen where you can edit your photo before you upload it.

If you snapped a new photo with your camera instead of selecting one from the camera roll, tap OK to go to the edit screen.

Imgur

6. Add a title and tags to your image. On the next screen, you can give your image a title by tapping on the Give your post a unique title… field at the top of the image. Add a description and tags by using the field at the bottom of the image that says Add a description.

To tag other users, write their username after the @ symbol. To add tags, type # followed by a keyword.

You can also add more images to the post by tapping the Add Images and Videos button at the bottom of the screen.

Tap the ••• button next to the title field to rearrange your images in a multi-image post.

7. Change the privacy settings if you want your post to be public. Under the title field, you’ll see a line of text saying Your post will upload as Hidden. Tap it to change the privacy settings if you want your post to be public instead.

Imgur

8. Select Post to upload your image. Once you’re happy with your image post, tap the green Post button at the top of the screen. Your image will be posted to Imgur!

I used to love spending hours on this app, but lately the annoying monster ads that keep popping up and redirecting me to new web pages have been really getting on my nerves. The other day, I ran into a problem where the ads wouldn't stop and kept generating new pages automatically. After about 30 new pages, my phone crashed completely, which was frustrating. I don't mind seeing small ads to support the app, but this experience was just terrible. Save yourself the trouble and time, and switch to using Reddit instead. And surprisingly, even after a year and getting a new phone, the issue persists.

So, I've been using the imgur app on different Android devices for quite a few years now. But for the past month, whenever I try to check out some posts, the app keeps crashing after just viewing about three of them. I've tried uninstalling, restarting my device, and reinstalling the app multiple times, thinking the issue might be with my phone. Unfortunately, nothing has worked so far. Additionally, I've also been unable to upload any posts myself. Even though I go through all the steps, nothing ever gets posted.

It's June 8, 2021, and I'm still unable to post anything on the app. The problem lies with ads that freeze the app and sometimes take up the whole screen. It's been more than a year and a half since I last posted something. The support team hasn't been much help; their suggestions like uninstalling and reinstalling, updating system software, and verifying email haven't fixed the issue. Now, I can't even log in. Despite having everything updated, the problem persists. The app used to be enjoyable and a great way to pass time, but now I only keep it because of my long membership history with it.

So now, imagine this: almost a quarter of what you see on your screen are just those annoying ads. They try to trick you by looking like actual content, pop up as banners blocking what you really want to see, or act like barriers that won't let you access what you need. And as if that's not enough, ever since these ads started invading the app, everything has gone downhill. It now moves at a snail's pace, glitches all the time, crashes unexpectedly, opens stuff you never tapped on, goes in the wrong direction, forgets where you left off, and worst of all, sucks up most of your battery power.

It was all good in the beginning, but lately, maybe even for the past few months, the app keeps crashing and freezing all the time. Every time I try to scroll through something for more than 3 minutes, it just crashes. Even if I close the app and reopen it, the issue persists. It's frustrating that I have to rate it with only one star just to leave a review, otherwise, I wouldn't even give it that. This really needs to be fixed.

So, I've been using this app called Imgur and man, it's been kind of frustrating. It's just so slow and the way you move around in it is really not great. I have a Pixel 6 and normally, my phone runs super smoothly with all apps, but for some reason, when it comes to Imgur, it just can't keep up. After about 5 minutes of browsing, the gifs start acting all strange, like they're missing frames or something. Feels like this app is hogging up all my phone's memory. And another thing - the way you have to keep opening every post to see comments or check out an album is just not user-friendly. They should really consider adding a swipe left/right feature instead of forcing you to open every single post. It would make scrolling through so much easier and more enjoyable.

The Android app is really chaotic. It has issues with uploading, and when you're browsing for a bit, it kicks you back to the beginning. It overheats your phone like crazy, bombards you with ad tracking, and shuts down randomly. It also eats up your CPU power, making everything slow to a crawl after some time of use. The GIFs often fail to load, requiring you to navigate between posts and scroll up and down to get them going. Interestingly, ads load without issue, but the actual content sometimes doesn't. Ads can even redirect you to their websites without warning. It would be appreciated if the developers could put more effort into improving the app.

The app is just not working right. It's like there's a leak in its brain or something, because it slows down so much after just a few minutes. And get this, the people who made it have known about this problem for ages but haven't done anything to fix it! It's so frustrating that I've started using other similar apps instead because this one is just too annoying to use. It seems like they're never gonna get around to actually solving this issue.

It seems like ads are being prioritized over user experience. Whenever you open a thread, image, or video on this platform, an ad with music starts playing and continues even if you minimize the app. Who thought this was a good idea? It's really annoying and it disrupts the Imgur experience every time. These constant ads are definitely turning me away from using the platform.

So, basically this app has become really annoying due to the excessive amount of ads. I used to use it for years without any issue, but about 6 months ago, they started showing ads that would automatically install apps on your phone when you accidentally tapped on them. It was so frustrating that I just uninstalled the app. Recently, I thought about giving it another try, but after looking at just 10 posts, I counted a total of 25 ads - that's 2 ads for every post! And in between those posts, there are full-page ads popping up randomly. So, my advice is, don't bother wasting your time with this app!
