JBL Portable - Speaker control & settings

The app can connect to other devices but not my flip 4. When I update it from 3.2.0 to 3.9.0 on a friend's phone, it always fails at the end after trying 8 times. It's frustrating as each update takes an hour.

The app takes forever to load and can only be used to check the battery level. But even that doesn't update automatically. I have to keep reopening the app to see the current battery percentage. Also, my Flip 5 was supposed to last up to 12 hours, but it never goes beyond 8.5 hours without charging. The sound quality is great, but overall, this app is just terrible.

The new flip 6 is better than my Bose Revolve because I can adjust the eq now. If the flip 6 didn't switch back to default eq settings when paired for stereo mode, I would buy another flip 6 tomorrow. I listen to everything except country music, and if I max out the eq at 60% volume or less, it's a fantastic speaker for me. It's so awesome to play around with, placing it in different locations around the house like up high or under cabinets.

You like it. You want an update for Left/Right Front/Rear stereo setup. You use two Flip 5's as L+R car speakers instead of an expensive system. You plan to get a Boombox for extra bass, but you're concerned about compatibility and maintaining the current stereo setup with your Flip 5s.

My phone had both "Charge 4" speakers connected to it, but the app couldn't detect them. Even though the speakers were paired to my phone and each other without issues, the app just kept searching for them and couldn't find either speaker, whether individually or when they were connected to each other.

I found the ultimate app for my JBL Extreme 2 speakers. It seriously cranked up the sound quality by five times! It was like my speakers suddenly hit maximum power. The music experience I had with them was out of this world. Thanks, JBL!
