What Do Jersey Mike’s Fans Think of the Menu’s Numbering?

Matt Lewis, a Maryland-based Jersey Mike’s superfan, says he first ate at the sub chain several years ago on a trip to Georgia. “I wanted a giant cheese steak with hot peppers,” Lewis explained, “and wouldn’t you know, that is exactly what a 56 is on the menu.”

In his time eating at Jersey Mike’s, Lewis says he’s “never noticed the numbers changing or ones missing,” a good thing since he has a few go-tos from the chain. “I don’t venture far from my favs: 56 (the Big Kahuna cheese steak) and 13 (the Original Italian),” he says, adding that he finds comfort in the consistency of Jersey Mike’s menu, all off-kilter numbering aside.

“It would be pandemonium if they mixed up the numbers,” Lewis said. “My saved app favorites would be screwed up and I’d have to remember all new numbers. Life is hard enough.”

Does Jersey Mike’s Have a Secret Menu?

A fabled Jersey Mike’s item Lewis has yet to try? The "99," a secret menu item you won’t see on the chain’s menu board. “I hear it's a combo of my favorite 56 and the 43, which is a Big Kahuna cheese steak with the chipotle mayo,” he said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if there were other off-menu options, I just haven’t had the pleasure...yet.”

    The app is really handy and functions well, especially for making personalized orders. However, there's room for improvement. Developers, please consider adding a feature to easily reorder past purchases. It would be so helpful to be able to quickly repeat a previous order instead of just looking at it. Additionally, it would be awesome to have a section for saving our favorite stores that we frequently use. Currently, switching between local stores requires going through the whole nationwide search each time.

    This app is good, but it could be better if they let us choose "light" or "extra" for some ingredients. It would also be nice to switch cheeses easily. My favorite sandwich is number 9, but I dislike Swiss cheese so I always ask for provolove instead. Doing this on the app is hard because I have to write it in the special instructions, and sometimes the employees miss it. Adding these options would improve the app a lot.

    This place offers top-notch service to go along with their delicious dishes! Ordering is simple and you can pick up your food whenever convenient. I've never encountered any issues, especially with the current pandemic situation. They offer delivery or pickup options based on your preference, allowing you to tailor your order to your liking. And let's not forget about their freshly baked bread—simply scrumptious!

    I mostly use the app for ordering subs from this place. It's great because just now I got a free giant sub using my reward points. Getting free food is awesome. That's $16 saved which I can keep in my pocket tonight. With prices rising due to inflation, every dollar matters these days. I make sure to use apps that offer rewards. This one is cool because you don't have to keep track of your points. It tells you when you've earned enough for a free sub!

    The app controls how much you can tip and sets a limit. There is an option to input a custom amount for the tip, but the app deemed 30% as too high. This situation is absurd and inexcusable.

    Oh, I love Jersey Mikes! The shop is so clean and the service is always friendly. They always get my orders right. The only thing is the app. You can't choose if you want your bread toasted or not for a hot sub, or how many toppings or condiments you want. Also, you can't pick the type of cheese you prefer, and some hot sandwiches don't let you add condiments. It's still good, but it's just not as great as ordering in person.
