FAQ

How do I update my name and phone number?

If you have created a job seeker profile on Jobstreet, you may update your name and/or phone number at any time.

To update your name and/or phone number:

1. Sign in to your account from the Jobstreet home page

2. Click the Profile tab at the top of the page

3. Click Edit personal details (near the top of the page)

4. Make your changes and click Save when you're finished.

And that's it, you're done!

Why is my Jobstreet username gibberish?

A job seeker’s first name will be used as your username when signed in, however if your first and last name are no provided in step 2 of creating an account, the username from your email address will be used. 

Candidates who choose to sign up with AppleID, can select to hide their email address and a masked email address is automatically generated by Apple, which will be used to display as their username. 

Here’s what it will look like: 

If you see this when you’re signed in to Jobstreet, it means you haven’t completed filling in your profile. Please add your first and last name to your profile to remove the gibberish name.  

Can an employer share my Profile with other people without my permission?

If an employer has received your career history, education, licences & certifications, and skills from your Profile as part of your application, they can share that information in the same way that they may currently share your cover letter and/or resume with others within their organisation.

How do I share a job?

If you find a job on the JobStreet website that you’d like to share with a friend or on social media, you can do so by clicking on the Share button which appears in the top right corner on every ad.

Once you click Share, the following options will appear, and you can select the way you’d like to share the ad from the following choices: email, Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.

If you select email, a new email will open up and you can fill in the remaining required details before sending it.

If you choose a social media option, a window will open and you’ll have to sign in to your account prior to sharing.

If you’d like to share an ad from the JobStreet mobile app, you’ll find the share symbol in the top right corner of all ads:

Once you select the share button, all of the options your device allows will appear, and you can choose how you wish to share the ad.
