What is Qustodio?

Qustodio is a parental control solution to make it easier to keep your kids safe online and develop healthy digital habits. It enables you to supervise their device use and help them get screen time balance so you can help your kids be safer - and smarter - with their phones and computers.

We also know that it can be tough to keep up with digital trends as a busy parent, so we’re here to help with that too. Our research-backed knowledge and advice makes it easier for you to navigate the digital world with your kids.

Why use Qustodio?

Kids’ screen time is increasing - causing sleep problems, mental health issues, the risks of inappropriate content, and also distraction from school. Every child has unique needs when it comes to using tech, but in general, more time online exposes them to more risks. Qustodio has the customizable tools needed to help in every situation. You can use Qustodio to schedule screen-free time before bed, so your kids can avoid sleep-disrupting blue light or block apps that they use excessively; you can monitor YouTube viewing, filter browser results, or simply supervise how your kids use their device.

Qustodio protects a broad range of platforms and you can monitor your kids’ devices from anywhere, using the Parents App on your own smartphone or the Family Portal on the web.

Okay, so if your kids have iPhones, it's better to pick a different service. Android could work though. When I checked the reviews on Google, the really good ones probably weren't from parents who used it for long enough. I had it for about a year and at first it was great with just some small problems, but then it started having big issues. My daughter's apps just disappeared, there were WiFi troubles, and the apps didn't work properly. There was no customer service at all, and I had to cancel the service to get the phone working again.

Oh boy, this app sure has some cool features that would've been awesome if it just kept working properly. But nope, I've had nothing but trouble with it. I keep having to log in on my daughter's phone, uninstall and reinstall the app just to get it up and running. I even got a new device 'cause of other issues, but the app still acted up, giving me all sorts of glitches and stopping activity reports randomly. No matter what we tried, it wouldn't cooperate. I'd turn on the "Protect Android Settings" option, only to find out later that the app would disable it on its own while I was using the phone. Sometimes it would work fine for a few days or a week, but then boom, it would act up again and I'd have to go back and fix the settings once more. I swear my daughter wasn't messing with the app on her own. Do yourself a favor and skip this one if you ask me!

Such a disappointment! I wish I could rate this app/program zero stars. It's always causing trouble - when we're not at home, it goes offline or tampers with our phone settings so much that my husband got locked out of his phone and weirdly switched to text talk mode. The only way to make our phones quiet was to delete Qustodio since it wouldn't let me adjust the settings. The interface was too kiddish and unhelpful. Given the chance, I'd definitely want a refund. 😡

I began using this app, Prime Subscription, back in January 2019. At first, it was a bit difficult to navigate but it mostly did what I needed it to do. I selected this app because it had received really good ratings. However, things took a turn around December 13, 2019, as the app suddenly started having issues. Despite uninstalling and reinstalling it several times, the problem persists. It seems like the troubles coincide with the time restrictions implemented by the app, which halt phone usage for the user. Unfortunately, the tech support I contacted hasn't been very helpful in resolving the issue.
