Use Your Speedups and Items!

The most annoying part about playing real-time strategy games is waiting for something to get completed. It becomes even worse during the late game when your upgrade timers last for hours or even days on end. Don’t be afraid to use your speedups in the inventory to skip those upgrade times so that you can instantly use your facilities. Even if it’s only two minutes, we still recommend using your speedups because it’ll allow you to do more stuff within your playing period.

Items in your inventory should also be used to pay for upgrades when you’re running low on resources. These are intended to help players keep up with the growing needs of building a flourishing kingdom. Most beginners are afraid to spend speedups and items in the early stages of the game, but the truth is that it’s more efficient early on because it’ll propel your progress a lot more as compared to using it in the later stages of the game where it doesn’t make that big of a difference.

Expand Your Territory

Expanding your territory is one of the most important parts of playing the game. At first, it may sound tedious especially since you don’t have that many buildings to really maximize the space so you’ll have a lot of empty unused tiles. However, it’s still good to expand early and continuously do so when the main quest no longer requires you to explore. This is because you’ll eventually need the space and it’s better to have them available rather than waiting for it to eventually come.

Exploring the map is also a good way to get free items and troops. Your heroes also get a decent amount of experience from defeating monsters. It can also be a really fun game mode while you’re waiting around doing nothing but wait for your other countdown timers to finish. In the later stages of the game, you can use the space purely to improve the aesthetics of your empire by arranging all your buildings and adding cosmetic items to give it a little more life and personalization.

Buy a Secondary Builder

The worst part about playing the game is waiting for your countdown timers to go down only so that you can do another action that requires more waiting. If you have only one builder active, the amount of progress you can achieve even if you spend a lot of time playing the game is very limited. That’s why we suggest purchasing a secondary builder to cut the time needed to upgrade your kingdom to the maximum level by half when you’re actively playing the game.

Once you’ve unlocked a secondary builder, we suggest that you play the game actively so that you can maximize its value by rapidly going through the construction of your empire. Time is a valuable resource in any RTS game, so if you have the ability to cut down the time you need to wait for something to finish, you should definitely take it. You don’t need to spend real money for a secondary builder because the game allows you to purchase one using diamonds that you get for free.

Mobilize Your Troops

Your army is your strongest weapon and most useful tool to achieve all your ambitions in the game. Simply having them sit idly in your kingdom is a complete waste since you’re not able to maximize their functionality by being able to collect resources and secure the area around you. In our Military Guide, we talked about how you can power up your empire’s army so you should check that out if you are interested in being able to use your troops efficiently with minimal casualties and losses.

You can mobilize your troops by making them attack monsters, collect resources, or pillage inactive players. Remember that you need to be smart about how you mobilize your army unless you’re ready to take some losses. The worst you can do is attack the wrong player, giving them an excuse to ask their allies to retaliate against you in full force. It’s okay if you don’t get that many loot as long as you’re not suffering casualties or injuries so that you can take home a bit of profit for your kingdom.
