This app is really cool and has a great concept. The coaching provided is top-notch. However, I can't give it a higher rating. Here's why: After playing three games, you have to subscribe for coaching. It's okay to pay for it, but calling it a "free trial" or "free coaching" when it's actually a paid monthly subscription is misleading. That kind of thing is just not cool.

I really enjoy using this app! I decided to try out the premium version for a bit, and I found the explanations on why certain moves should or shouldn't be made very helpful. After using the app regularly for a few weeks, I can say that it definitely does its job well. I gave it 4 stars because although it teaches tactics effectively, I wish there was more focus on strategy beyond just the openings. Overall, as someone who has played chess casually in the past but is now taking it more seriously, this app has motivated me to dive deeper into learning and playing chess.

Wow, this app sounds absolutely fabulous! It makes learning chess from the very beginning super easy. I personally find using the app to be really enjoyable. I have a couple suggestions for improvement. Firstly, it would be great if each coach had their own unique abilities to expose users to different styles of chess. Secondly, it would be awesome if users could play online with someone from a different location, and it would be even better if this feature was free. Thank you for considering these ideas!

I really like this app. I was hoping to just pay for it to access its coaching features, but unfortunately, it has a monthly or yearly subscription that I can't commit to due to my other responsibilities. Even though the yearly subscription might average about $3 per month, there are times when I may not use the app for 3-6 months in between. Nonetheless, it's an excellent app with some great instructional exercises that you can take advantage of, including adjustable game levels. You can learn while playing without feeling too much pressure. It's a good alternative to Solitaire!

Overall, this app gives a good overview of the basics. One thing that bothers me is that you need to click "Next" after each move, which can be irritating. The computer opponents are a bit odd too. They play really well until suddenly making silly mistakes. This can help beginners practice spotting pieces left unguarded, but it's not very challenging for experienced players. Also, I don't see the value in subscribing as it seems like you can finish all the lessons within about 8 hours.

The classes are really enjoyable and easy to follow, with plenty of example problems to help you recognize patterns. I've been working through the games at the "Beginner" and "Strong Beginner" levels. The Beginner level is super simple and often leaves pieces vulnerable, which is great for newcomers who are just learning how the pieces move. Moving up to Strong Beginner provides a more realistic gaming experience, while still offering opportunities to practice strategies like forks and pins. I'm excited to progress to tougher challenges in the future!
