Life360 Permission Settings

Relevancy: All Members

To maximize the benefits of the Life360 app, enable the following:

· Bluetooth

Bluetooth detects and connects to devices near you to improve location updates.

Android

Go to your device’s Settings screen. 

Scroll down to and select Life360.

Scroll down and select Bluetooth or the Bluetooth symbol.

Toggle Bluetooth to On. 

· Location

Location data enables the in-app map, Place Alerts, and location sharing with your Circle.

Android

Go to your device’s Settings screen.

Scroll down to and select Location.

For Pixel devices:

Scroll down to and select Life360.

Tap Allow all the time.

Toggle Use precise location to On.

For Samsung devices:

Scroll down to and select App permissions.

Scroll down to and select Life360.

Tap Allow all the time.

Toggle Use precise location to On。

· Push Notifications

Stay up-to-date with check-ins, alerts, and messages from your Circle。

Android

Go to your device’s Settings screen.

Scroll down to and select Apps.

Scroll down to and select Life360.

Toggle Notifications to On。

· Motion Sensors

Motion data enables driving analytics, Driving Safety features, and Crash Detection. Motion data allows Life360 to know when the phone moves to immediately begin reporting location changes.

Android

Go to your device’s Settings screen.

Scroll down to and select Apps.

For Pixel devices:

Scroll down to and select Life360.

Select Permissions, then Physical Activity.

Tap Allow.

For Samsung devices:

Scroll down to and select App permissions.

Scroll down to and select Life360.

Select Physical Activity.

Tap Allow.

Additional Settings to improve performance

Wi-Fi

To improve location accuracy, keep Wi-Fi turned on, even when not connected.

Cellular Data

Allow the use of Cellular Data for the Life360 app to function properly.

Mobile Data or Data Usage

Turn off Data Saver and Limit mobile data usage modes.

Battery Optimization

For Android phones, set to Unrestricted.

Nearby Devices

For Android phones, permission to locate Nearby Devices via Bluetooth must be set to Allow.
