Introduction
Protecting against identity theft can be quite challenging. However, with the LIFELOCK IDENTITY app and a NORTON 360 or LIFELOCK plan, we simplify the process for you. Imagine you are in another part of town while someone is fraudulently applying for a bank loan using your identity. In such cases, we will notify you with an identity alert†. If it's not you taking out that loan, you can act immediately, and we’ll take action on your behalf.
LIFELOCK PLANS OFFER:
• LIFELOCK IDENTITY ALERT™ SYSTEM†: This feature notifies you if your Social Security Number, name, address, or date of birth is being used in credit or service applications.
• DARK WEB MONITORING: We consistently monitor the dark web and inform you if we discover your information there.
• US-BASED ID RESTORATION SPECIALISTS: In the unfortunate event you become a victim of identity theft, an Agent will be assigned to assist with your case from beginning to end, helping you restore your identity.
• MILLION DOLLAR PROTECTION PACKAGE†††: If you experience identity theft, protection is provided for legal fees and expert consultations up to $1 million, along with reimbursement for stolen funds and other expenses within your plan's limits.
ADVANTAGE AND ULTIMATE PLUS PLANS ALSO COME WITH:
• EASY ACCESS TO CREDIT SCORE(S) & REPORT(S)1: You gain unlimited daily or monthly access to credit information (depending on your chosen plan), which is crucial for credit security.
• IDENTITY LOCK: Simply tap to secure your TransUnion credit file.‡
• TRANSACTION MONITORING: Keeps an eye on activity across your bank, credit card, and retirement accounts.†
NORTON 360 plans that don't include LifeLock are limited to dark web monitoring.
LIFELOCK IDENTITY ADVISOR provides dark web monitoring, breach alerts, and assistance with merchant disputes. However, it does not encompass the Million Dollar Protection™ Package or additional alert features available in higher-tier plans.
No one can completely eliminate the threat of identity theft or cybercrime.
1 If your plan includes credit reports, scores, and/or credit monitoring features (“Credit Features”), two conditions must be satisfied to utilize these features: (i) your identity must be successfully verified with Equifax; and (ii) Equifax must successfully find your credit file that contains enough credit history information. IF EITHER OF THESE CONDITIONS ARE NOT MET, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS CREDIT FEATURES FROM ANY BUREAU. Furthermore, if your plan includes Credit Features from Experian and/or TransUnion, similar verification must also be completed with them. If verification is successful with Equifax but not with Experian and/or TransUnion, you'll only receive Credit Features from Equifax until Experian and/or TransUnion verifications are successfully accomplished. Note that getting credit monitoring from Experian and TransUnion may take several days post your successful enrollment in a LifeLock plan.
The credit scores offered are VantageScore 3.0 credit scores derived from data obtained from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, individually. Any One-Bureau VantageScore referenced is solely based on Equifax data. Various third parties utilize different types of credit scores and are likely to apply a distinct type to evaluate your creditworthiness.
† Not all transactions at all businesses are monitored.
††† Compensation for reimbursement and related expenses has upper limits of up to $1 million for Ultimate Plus, $100,000 for Advantage, and $25,000 for Standard and Select (Norton 360 with LifeLock Select). Additionally, coverage for attorneys and experts is available up to $1 million across all plans. The benefits provided under the Master Policy are issued and insured by United Specialty Insurance Company (State National Insurance Company, Inc. for members in NY State). For the policy terms, conditions, and exclusions, refer to the appropriate documentation.
‡ Locking or unlocking your credit file does not impact your credit score, nor does it prevent all companies and agencies from accessing your credit file. If your subscription is downgraded or terminated, the lock on your TransUnion file will be revoked.

FAQs:
Alerts and notifications
Why am I receiving more than one alert for the same application?
You may be notified multiple times for the same activity, once when the application is submitted and then again when it is reported to each of the three national credit bureaus. When you apply for credit not all companies report to each credit bureau at the same time and they may not report to all three bureaus. Activity may show on different LifeLock data sources, triggering additional alerts. LifeLock has multiple data sources and different activities can generate multiple alerts.
In some cases, a company may submit your information to find you the best rates on an application. For example, when shopping for an auto or mortgage quote, the companies may reach out to multiple lenders simultaneously.
Which cell phone carriers does Norton support for text message alerts?
Our text message alerts work on most major cell phone carriers (see below). If your phone is able to receive SMS text messages, you should be able to receive text message alerts from LifeLock. If you are unsure, check with your cell phone carrier.
Message and data rates may apply. Read our Terms and Conditions for other important information related to our text message alert service.
Will I be charged to receive alerts by text message?
We won't charge you for the text message alerts we send to you. We can't speak for your mobile carrier though, which may charge you depending on your plan. If you're unsure, it may be a good idea to check with them. Depending on your mobile plan and text message program, you may incur data charges for sending or receiving text messages.
What could trigger an alert?
Here are some examples of behavior that could trigger an alert up to 30 days later:
Applying for credit, services, or refinancing with the company or bank listed in your alert.
Making changes to an existing account, or being added as an authorized user on any account with the company or bank listed in your alert.
Applying for or inquiring about new services, store rewards cards, airline rewards programs or sweepstakes/drawings with the company or bank listed in your alert.
Dark Web Monitoring
Applicable for: Android;Mac;Windows;iOS
Dark Web Monitoring is a service that scans for your personal information on hard-to-find dark websites and forums. It is important because identity thieves can buy or sell your personal information to commit several illicit activities.
When we detect your information on the dark web, we notify you to gain awareness and act. To review the alert or notification that you received, go to your account dashboard or mobile app. To verify if the alert that you received is from Norton, read Verify that an email you receive from Norton is legitimate.
You may receive alerts that are either Attributed in which the site of the breach is known. Or Unattributed meaning that the exposed data could belong to a site that no longer exists or fall under the category of unknown/others (not mapped to any site).
