Why is there no sound?

For learning a sign language, you don't need any sound. At Lingvano we want to put the visual component of sign languages first. Therefore, we intentionally decided not to include any audio features. 

This way, you can dive into the Deaf World even deeper, since your training is solely based on visual features! This will lead to faster recognition of Sign Languages and, moreover, their specific hand movements as well as facial expressions. 

What is my proficiency level after the course?

After having finished the Lingvano course of a specific Sign Language, you should have a proficiency level that can be described as follows:

Understanding

You can understand phrases and the highest frequency sign vocabulary related to areas of most immediate personal relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local area, employment). You can catch the main point in short, clear, simple messages and announcements.

Signing

You can use a series of phrases and sentences to describe in simple terms your family and other people, living conditions, your educational background and your present or most recent job.

Interaction

You can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities. Even though you can't always keep the conversation going yourself, you are proficient enough to handle short social exchanges.

Can I use Lingvano on multiple devices?

Sure, you can absolutely use your Lingvano account on multiple devices! Our app is available on web, iOS, and Android, so you can access your account from any of those platforms. 

Just log in with the same email and password that you use for your account, and you'll be good to go. You can also log in both on an iPad and iPhone for example.
