Tips for beginners

Beginner tips for people who are new-ish to merge games:

You can merge coins, diamonds, and supply/nature chests to get more out of them. The max level is lvl 5 for coin and diamond piles, and lvl 2 for chests.

Storage expansion is the best use for your diamonds. You will be running out of space frequently, especially on higher levels.

Make sure to get your free box with items in the shop every day.

At one point (not sure when exactly, only that it's a few days in), you will be able to watch an ad once a day to receive a free energy chest. You will also be able to watch a few ads per day for 15 energy each, and occasionally you will be able to watch an ad to replenish a generator faster. EDIT: as SirClizby75 pointed out, the ad feature is only available to a limited number of players right now.

Sometimes a bubble will spawn after merging items. Unless you buy it with diamonds, it will pop after a minute and spawn a coin. You can also claim a few low-cost (5 gems are the highest I've noticed, but it's possible you can buy some higher-cost items as well) bubbles per day for free by watching ads.

If an item generator is on a cooldown and you want to know how long you have to wait for it to recharge, look at the number of diamonds under "Skip". That's roughly how many minutes it will take.

Some cells on your board will be locked until you build an item and merge it with the item inside them. You might be tempted to do it ASAP just to free up the space. Don't do it! It's a waste of energy and space (as the item will be sitting there until you get an order for it). You will get an order that will require you to do it sooner or later anyway, be patient.

Also, don't put items you don't intend to merge close to each other, or you might accidentally merge them while moving them around the board.

Sometimes the generators I need for my orders are recharging, and my energy is almost at 100, or I know I won't open the game for a long time (e.g. going to sleep). In this case, I will spawn some items just so I don't waste the energy.

Special order info:

I know of 3 special orders. The first one is for Marshmallow the cat, the second one is for a Miguel cardboard cutout, and the third one is two items for Kate's birthday. I recommend that you always prioritise special order generators as they have a long recharge time, and it's in your best interest to get them out of the way as quickly as possible to free up your board space. You get diamonds and coins upon completing them, and possibly energy as well? I never paid much attention tbh, if someone knows, lmk!

More advanced tips:

Don't upgrade your bookshelf past lvl 5. Right now, the spawn rates for dice are pretty low, and according to u/Medical-Recording-89, you will not get orders for them as long as your bookshelf is below lvl 5. Do upgrade everything else, as it gives you a chance to spawn higher-level items, which saves you energy, and you can sell the extra drinks and apple pies you don't need for coins, or save them for later.

If you're running out of space and need to sell something, sell honey. It's the only item you can generate for "free" (no energy cost). Also, pay attention to the level of the items you're planning to sell. 2 items that cost 2 coins will merge into 1 item that costs 3 coins. Sometimes merging it will spawn a bubble that will net you 1 more coin, but more often than not it's more profitable to sell those 2 items instead of merging them.
