1.How are hourly earnings calculated?

The hourly earnings communicated are no guarantee of future performance and not indicative of any specific driver's earnings, and calculated before taxes, insurance, depreciation, and other costs associated with being a rideshare driver. This calculation includes all online platform time for drivers, including any potential time spent engaged with other app-based services. 

2.How are guaranteed earnings calculated?

For every 14-day guaranteed earnings period, Lyft guarantees you'll earn at least 120% of the minimum wage for booked time, plus 36¢ per booked mile—from the moment you accept a ride request until the time you drop off your passenger.

Local minimum wage is based on the pickup location of each rideshare request you complete. You'll always keep 100% of your tips, and if you make less than the guaranteed amount (before tips and tolls), you'll be paid the difference.

3.When will I receive the guaranteed earnings adjustment?

Guaranteed earnings adjustments will be distributed every other Wednesday for the previous 14-day calculation period, which resets Mondays at 5 AM.

4.How am I compensated for vehicle expenses?

You're guaranteed at least 120% of minimum wage along with 36¢ per mile for all time and distance whenever you're booked with a passenger. Booked time is used to calculate guaranteed earnings. You'll always make at least as much as the guaranteed earnings—if you don't, Lyft will pay you the difference.

For Lyft drivers, continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

You may see a different experience in select cities. If Upfront Pay is not available in your city, then you will be paid for each minute and mile of the trips you complete, based on your city’s per-minute and per-mile rates. Upfront Pay is not available in Washington state, New York City, Portland or Toronto.
