History of MD S.p.A.:

Founded in 1994 by Patrizio Podini, MD S.p.A. (formerly Lillo SpA) has grown from its initial store in Mugnano di Napoli to a prominent retail chain with over 800 locations in Italy and beyond. Over the years, the company has expanded through acquisitions and the establishment of franchising stores. Notable milestones include:

1994: Launch of the first MD store.

2000: Expansion with franchising stores.

2013: Introduction of the Lillo brand store for non-food products.

2016: Rebranding to MD S.p.A.

2017: New promotional campaign featuring Antonella Clerici and Patrizio Podini.

    Shops and flyers

How can I check the opening hours of MD stores or get their telephone number?

Open the Stores section and search for the store you are interested in. You will find the opening hours, the telephone number and much other information relating to the shop.

How can I check the dates of upcoming MD store openings?

Open the " Openings and renovations " section, you will find all the dates of the next openings of the new MD stores, while the reopening dates of the stores currently closed for renovations will be visible on the store card.

I don't receive your paper flyers. How to do it?

We are working to gradually reduce the printing of flyers, in order to also reduce paper consumption, while protecting the environment, therefore, we suggest you consult our flyer in digital format on our website or on our APP.

Can I enter the store with my pet?

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed inside our stores due to compliance with health and hygiene regulations, given that we sell loose fruit and vegetables, bread, butchery and delicatessen products.

    Products

I encountered a quality problem with a purchased food product. What can I do?

We invite you to contact us by filling out the form below, indicating, where available, the address of the production plant, the production batch and the expiry date shown on the package. If possible, we kindly ask you to also attach a photo of the product, in order to better manage the problem.

The item purchased in store is defective. What can I do?

We invite you to go to the store where you purchased the product with your receipt, the branch staff will suggest the best solution to solve the problem, evaluate the possibility of replacement/refund or provide you with the contact details of the assistance center you can contact .

How can I find out if a product is available in one of md's stores?

Unfortunately we are unable to provide updated information on the stock of the items, we invite you to go directly to the store to check availability.

At the time of my purchases one item was already sold out. Why?

All stores are regularly restocked during promotions, however it may happen that stocks of some products run out sooner than expected. In any case, we are committed to a new supply in the shortest possible time.

Can reused plastic bags be used for fruit and vegetables?

No, it is not possible to use a bag in your possession if it has already been used previously. Law no. 123/17 has established limitations starting from January 1, 2018 on the use of plastic bags supplied as direct packaging for loose foods (for example fruit and vegetables), which have been replaced by biodegradable bags sold exclusively for a fee. A bag intended, for hygiene reasons, to package loose foods, is not considered reusable regardless of its biodegradability, precisely because of the prevailing food hygiene aspects which instead require the use of a new

bag. On this point, the Ministry of the Environment refers to the Ministry of Health, making it known that the same is oriented towards allowing the use of disposable plastic bags already in the possession of consumers, as long as they meet the criteria established by the legislation on materials destined to be contact with food, and which are "not previously used and comply with hygiene criteria that the commercial establishments will be able to define in specific signs and verify, given the responsibility to guarantee the hygiene and safety of the equipment present in the establishment and of the food sold to customers".

Can I pay with the citizen's income card at your stores?

Yes, the citizen's income card can be spent at all our points of sale.

Can I request an invoice at the branch for the purchases I have made?

Yes, we remind you to ask for the invoice before paying and issuing the receipt at the checkout.

At the checkout they rounded up the total amount of the expense. Why?

From 01/01/2018 the 1 and 2 euro cent coins are no longer minted in Italy. For this reason, Legislative Decree 50/2017 provides that, for cash payments only, the final amount of the receipt is rounded up or down to the nearest multiple of 5 cents. We remind you that rounding is not carried out on the prices of individual products, but is applied only and exclusively to the overall amount of the expense and will be visible on the final receipt.

How can I send you my CV or apply for an open position?

We invite you to send your application through the appropriate section of the Work with us website which only lists the positions currently open; if you would like to send a spontaneous application, just save your CV complete with all the requested data. Any applications received through other contact channels will not be taken into consideration. The selection staff will evaluate your professional profile and will contact you if you are interested in continuing the information process.

Which associations can I choose?

You can choose the one highlighted by our company or freely choose your favorite from the thousands in the Goodify database, our partner in this MD charity initiative.

How much does my nonprofit receive?

Your non-profit receives 100% of the donations collected net of bank costs.

Are there hidden costs for me or for non-profits?

Absolutely not. The service is free for both non-profits and users.

I can't find my favorite non-profit. Can I suggest it to Goodify?

If you cannot find yours in the list of non-profit beneficiaries, you can suggest it by filling out the form on goodify.com

What do I do if I don't have a favorite nonprofit?

You can choose to select the one highlighted by us at MD or click the "Choose for me" button which will extract one at random from the system.

When will the donation arrive to my association?

The sums collected will be transferred to the beneficiary non-profits 2 or 4 times a year, based on the volume of donations generated by the system. By activating Goodify's "Track your donation" service you will have the opportunity to check and verify your choice.

How are donations generated?

By making a purchase of at least 30 euros we will donate 1 euro to your favorite non-profit.

You just have to download the MD App and scan the QR code on the receipt.

Who finances and makes the donations?

We at MD finance the donations and Goodify is our partner who sends them to the beneficiary non-profits.

How much do I receive as a donation?

You will receive 100% of the donations collected net of bank costs.

Do I have to pay a fee to join?

Absolutely not. The service is free for both non-profits and users.

When will I receive the donations?

The sums collected will be transferred to the beneficiary non-profits 2 or 4 times a year, based on the volume of donations generated by the system.

    Returns policy

Returns are only accepted for food products that present quality problems (No returns are made for products mistakenly purchased):

Within 48 hours of purchase

In the presence of a receipt

The refund is made with

    1) a voucher:

Valid for 6 months

Can be used in a single solution, does not give the right to change, can be combined with other return vouchers

Spendable only in the point of sale that issued it

    2) the reimbursement of the amount spent in cash

Non-food products and non-food grocery

Returns of non-food and non-food grocery products are accepted

    If defective:

Within the terms of the warranty (Within 24 months of purchase if with receipt / Within 12 months of purchase if with invoice)

Only after evaluation of the product by sales personnel or a service center

The refund is made with

To help its customers, MD also accepts returns of non-food and non-food grocery products

Only on intact and unopened packaging

The refund is made only with a voucher:

Spendable only in the point of sale that issued it

This procedure applies to all products sold in stores, including Clic&Collects paid at the checkout. However, Clic&Collect Pago online products collected at the point of sale are excluded; for the latter the return process is managed by reporting with this form.

    MD App

How can I take advantage of special offers valid only with APP MD?

Download the MD APP, register and select "Special Offers" from the menu. View the products on offer and show the offer code at the checkout.

The discount will be applied to all selected products purchased and can be used multiple times during the validity of the promotion.

I'm having problems registering on the APP. How can I do it?

Check that you have installed the latest version of the APP.

If you are already a registered user on the MD Web Store site, log in with the same credentials, without registering again.

    Competitions

I scanned the QR code but it appears to be invalid. What can I do?

We invite you to check that you have installed the latest version of the APP before proceeding with the scan. We also remind you that it is necessary to frame the QR code present on the receipt dedicated to the competition received at the time of payment, and not the one present on the main shopping receipt.

I do not have the receipt with the QR code dedicated to the competition. What can I do?

We are sorry, but it is no longer possible to recover the receipt dedicated to the competition if it is not collected at the time of shopping.

    So I went to the Trento Nord store and the staff there was really disappointing. It's like they expect customers to clean the oil containers themselves or bring their own bags to avoid getting dirty. I will never go back there again, never.

    The grocery lists disappear on their own and the flyers take too long to load. I tried using it for a few months but instead of getting better, the app's performance keeps declining. There's probably no investment in the infrastructure supporting the app. It's a shame because the idea is good.
