Why does my account have a recovery key?

MEGA is The Privacy Company, which means our aim is to protect your data and respect your privacy.

We use the most advanced security and privacy measures and tools to protect your information and put you in control of your data. The recovery key is one of the security and privacy features that we use.

How do I cancel my MEGA subscription?

We are sad to lose you as a customer, and we would love to hear from you what we could do better.

To cancel your subscription, please follow the instructions below:

In a desktop web browser

- Open the main menu.

- Click Settings.

- Click Plan.

- Click Subscription cancellation.

- Select your reason for cancelling.

- Click Cancel subscription.

In a mobile web browser

- Tap the avatar icon to open the Account menu.

- Tap Cancel subscription.

- Tap Confirm.

Can I revert back to a free or Pro account from a Business account?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to convert a Business account to a free or Pro account. What you can do, however, is migrate any relevant data from your Business account into another MEGA account.

To migrate data to another MEGA account:

- Organise the data that you wish to keep in a single folder. This can contain sub-folders as required.

- Create a link to your folder.

- Access that link while logged in to the MEGA account that you wish to migrate the data to.

- Click Save to MEGA.

- Choose a location to save the folder to, or click Create folder.

- Click Import.

How do I recover a parked account?

If you have parked your account and then subsequently found your password and/or recovery key, you can request to unpark the original account and its contents by emailing our support team.

If that is the case:

- Please email our support team from your original account’s email address.

- Confirm that you either remember the password or have the recovery key of the parked account.

We will only consider unparking requests if you contact us within 60 days of parking the original account. After 60 days, the data in the parked account is scheduled for deletion.

MEGA's client-side application code is transparently shared on GitHub, promoting openness. You can manage subscriptions through the Play Store icon on your device.
