How I use it

Link Mi device with Mi Home app

To control your Xiaomi Smart devices by your Android, iOS, or Alexa, you will need to link your Mi Device to with Mi Home app.

1. Download Mi Home app from Google Play or iOS App store, you can also scan this QR code.

NOTE: If you already have a Mi account, please sign in with your account credentials. If you are new to Mi, click “Sign up” to create your Mi account.

2. Adding a new device to your account:

1)Turn your device on, please keep the device near your phone, and open the Mi Home app. You may see a prompt that detects your device. Tap “OK” to connect device.

2)If the prompt doesn’t appear, you can also add devices manually. Tap the plus in upper right corner or click “+Add device” and then select the device to be connected by clicking “devices nearby”. If none are detected, click “Add Manually” to search your device. Follow the instructions after.

3)Click on the icon of the product you are trying to connect with the Mi Home app. If you cannot find it, input the device name in the search field above.

FAQ

Why can't Mi Home App find the device?

Select "Trust this APP" in the "Mobile Settings" - "App Management" - "Mi Home App".Pull down the screen of the phone to turn on the function of "Location Information". It is suggested to exit the Mi account and select the corresponding region when you log in again.

What should I do if the device fails to connect to the Mi Home APP?

1. Please check whether the WiFi can access the Internet normally;

2. Check whether the WiFi password of the smart device is correct;

3. The external network speed is slow;

4. Whether the router has turned on the anti-rubbing network and wireless access control;

5. The public WiFi network cannot be connected (such as CMCC);

6. The 5G network cannot be connected (the camera can connect to 5G WiFi);

7. The name of WiFi is recommended to be set to English letters or numbers;

8. The length of the WiFi name cannot be too long (not more than 32 bits).

Tip: There is no restriction on the router brand, it needs to support the wireless network IEEE802.11b/g/n and wpa/wpa2 encryption method to connect

If the above operation is invalid, it is recommended to change the network operator for testing. If some special networks have the port blocking function, the smart device may not be able to be used.

How to share device through Mi Home APP?

Solutions: To select the same correct region from the mobile phone of the bound device,setting path: Mi Home App-My-Settings-Region.

How to add a password in Mi Home App in order to prevent devices from being controlled directly from the home page?

Step 1 : Open Mi Home App and click on Profile icon

Step 2 : Go to Settings then select “Privacy settings”

    I really love this robot. It's incredibly smart! I was surprised by how impressive the app is. I enjoy how it maps out the floor plan and shows its movements. It can create no-go zones in any shape you want. I am very pleased with both the app and the robot. I wouldn't think about getting a different brand. It's only a week old, so time will tell how it holds up. After 1 week, 7 days, and 24 hours of use, there have been zero issues. It's a fantastic vacuum!

    The app is great, but one thing that bothers me is the notification sound. I tried changing it in the app, but it still uses the default sound. I have several security cameras connected to this app and I would like each one to have a different notification sound to alert me effectively. Can you help me with this issue?

    The Roborock Vacuum is awesome. The app could use some improvements though, especially with the frequent connection loss issue. This time, I unplugged the dock cord for 10 seconds to move it out of the robot's path. After reconnecting, the device lost connection again. So frustrating! I had to repeat the entire wifi setup and reprogram my schedule. It would be more convenient if the app could automatically reconnect after the connection is restored.

    The recent update didn't work. Can't share feedback on the app because it won't load! Also, can't link with my vacuum. Have to manually turn it on and can't change cleaning intensity. Vacuum's fine, but the app isn't. Sort out connection problems! Not phone or Wi-Fi signals' fault; many face this issue. I might avoid XIAOMI products if this continues.

    The app for my robot vacuum cleaner stopped working after an update over a month ago. I've tried updating multiple times, sending feedback, deleting and re-adding the vacuum cleaner in the app, and even resetting it to factory settings, but it still won't start. However, with my new phone that has a newer MIUI version, the app works perfectly. Thank you for your help!

    The cameras sometimes lag and require reconnecting. App updates can log you out and you'll need to sign in again. As of 24/09/2020, the app has become more stable. By 07/01/2021, it significantly improved after updates. However, following the latest update on 15/06/2021, an issue arose where it no longer communicates with my cameras.

    I've been trying to make an account for 3 days using both an iPhone and Android, but it's been a total mess. Tech support sent me a YouTube guide, but it didn't help at all. I'm returning this vacuum and getting my money back. I don't want to deal with this anymore!

    The camera is great, simple to use, and provides instant information. It's perfect for keeping an eye on things when you're not around. It records movement automatically, so you don't have to worry about storage - it's all saved in the cloud for you.

    The wifi camera is always offline, which is irritating. It should be easier to use or foolproof. A quick google search reveals many complaints about this problem. The camera itself is good, but the offline issue is frustrating. Also, why are my devices removed after app updates? Reconnecting all 10 cameras is a huge hassle. I left a review in 2019, but none of the developers responded. They seem disinterested and provide poor customer service for their business.
