The Microsoft Family Safety app is designed to support families in establishing healthy digital habits and safeguarding loved ones. It offers tools for parents to create a secure online environment for their children, including setting parental controls for apps and games, as well as filtering web content on Microsoft Edge.

Parents can also manage their kids' screen time by setting limits on specific devices such as Xbox, Windows, and Android, and receive activity reports to better comprehend their family's digital activities. Children benefit from the app by accessing age-appropriate content and adhering to parental restrictions.

Key features of Microsoft Family Safety include:

- Activity reports for developing healthy digital habits

- Screen time management with app and game limits

- Content filters for safe browsing on Microsoft Edge

The app also ensures user privacy by safeguarding data and offering options for data collection and usage. Users are provided with choices regarding information sharing and can control permissions related to interaction data collected by the app.

It should be noted that the Microsoft Family Safety app is either offered by Microsoft or a third-party publisher and is governed by separate terms and conditions and privacy policies. Data collected through the app may be stored and processed in various countries, including the United States.

Remember when this app was great because it combined screen time from Windows and XBox for kids? It made sense, as screen time is screen time. But now Microsoft has changed it, so you can't do that anymore. It's like they ruined a once useful app in a snap. And get this - the developers say it's on purpose, not a mistake. That's just plain disrespectful.

You use the app for a long time. Recently, it keeps saying to update. However, even after removing and installing it again, and clearing the cache, it doesn't update. It runs for a bit, then gives the update message again. The cycle repeats just so you can respond to your son's requests. He now has to tell you verbally about his requests because the notifications don't work. Yes, the notifications are on, but it's really frustrating.

People keep asking for additional time, but it takes several minutes before any response appears on the screen. When using the app to check on one of the kids, it takes around 30 seconds just to see a screen. Updating the location data also takes quite some time. At first, I thought this was due to poor design, but now I'm convinced it's intentionally broken, making the app nearly useless. It's a necessary tool for marketing, but there isn't enough funding to improve it. Recent updates have actually removed useful features like disabling a device.

That's a good idea! The app has limitations compared to the site. I have trouble accessing everything on the app that I can on the website. Moreover, there are problems with the drive sharing feature. It keeps showing me errors or saying that drive sharing isn't activated, which it actually is. I'm really thinking about uninstalling the app because of this issue. Another thing is that locations are not accessible on the app but they are on the website. On the contrary, drive sharing is available on the app but not on the site. It would be so much better if all features were available on both platforms.

The app is not working properly because it says you have an old version and asks you to update, but there is no update in the Play Store. This makes the app completely useless now. It seems like they didn't check this important detail before making changes. Please fix it quickly! I've already reported it to Microsoft, and other users are having the same problem around the same time.
