Board
Question 1: What is the board in MONOPOLY GO!?
Answer 1: If you have played the classic MONOPOLY board game, you must be familiar with the board here. Just like the classic game, in MONOPOLY GO! you roll dice to move your pieces around the board, and receive various rewards depending on where the pieces end up. There are several different types of squares on the board.
Question 2: What are Estate Squares?
Answer 2: Estate Squares are the most common squares. Houses earned by building and upgrading landmarks are placed on Estate Squares. If you stop on an Estate Square currently occupied by a Rent Target, they will pay you rent based on the number of houses on the same square.
Question 3: What are Railroad Squares?
Answer 3: There is a Railroad Square on each side of the board. Stopping on this type of square launches a mini-game: "Sabotage" or "Bank Robbery".
Question 4: What are the Corners?
Answer 4: There is a special square in each of the four corners of the board. The Start Square is the starting square for each board. When you stop or pass through this square, you earn money! The next corner is for Prison Visitors, which is a free space. Next up is the "Free Parking" square, which is sometimes activated by special events, but is otherwise a free space. In the final corner, we encounter the "Go to Jail" square. Here, you have three attempts to roll the same number (these rolls do not consume dice). If you succeed, you win the dice roll bonus! If you fail, you must pay bail to leave.
Question 5: What else is on the board?
Answer 5: There are several other surprises on the board, including the Big Tax Square, Chance Cards, the Social Fund, and the Utilities: Electric and Water.
Rent Targets
Question: What are Rent Targets?
Answer: As you play, other players will stay on your properties. You can identify other players by their icons on the squares.
Staying on a square with a Rent Square on it charges that player rent for staying on your board! If you have a house or hotel built on that property square, you can charge even more rent!
Guide
Upgrade By Value
With every city you unlock, you'll have five more buildings that you need to build and upgrade. However, don't be fooled, each update is worth one upgrade point irrespective of the cost. So, try to squeeze as many in as possible by upgrading in order of value.
Each upgrade will place houses on your map, so the more you can get the better, as it will make your rolls more profitable. Remember, time is money. So, use your time wisely!
Triple It Up
One of the earlier unlocks you will get in Monopoly Go is the ability to increase your multiplier. This will allow you to roll up to three dice instead of just one. If you roll three dice, you will triple your rewards, including your ill-gotten gains from a heist.
You don't unlock the ability to use multiple dice by way of the upgrade path. You will simply be given this unique gift at level 20.
In fact, the multiplier will affect every effect. There is almost no reason NOT to use the triple multiplier. Unless that is, you just like rolling die and walking around the board.
If you are truly looking to optimize your strategy, you could choose to go lower your multiplier when you are in range of a tax space, as that is a poor use of multiple dice. However, we don't actually think it is worth the hassle at the end of the day.
Keep Your Shields Topped Up
As you progress along the map, you will inevitably pick up shields (they will be everywhere). These are what will protect your buildings from the siege tools of your enemies. However, you can only hold three at a time. Once you have three, you'll become vulnerable.
This means that you'll need to log back in frequently to check back on your shields, and then refill them when necessary. You'll be getting about five rolls per hour, so if you check back in every three hours or so, you should be able to keep those buildings safe. Sleep in shifts, people.
Spend Every Last Penny Before Logging Out
There is no punishment for bankrupting in Monopoly Go. However, while you are away from the game, people can invade your Monopoly kingdom and snatch your money from your bank. But you know what they can't take? The money you don't have!
So, when you are running low on dice, consider purchasing the property that will reduce your coffers the most. That way you won't have your cash snatched from you. You'll need to upgrade those more expensive properties later anyway, and it is better that you spend your money on upgrades than have the vultures snatch it away from you!
Use Dice Links!
We're keeping the best one for last. New Dice Links are released daily for Monopoly Go. More often than not, there will be two new dice links available daily. These links tend to provide you with an easy 25 dice a pop. That is 50 free dice per day!
These Dice Links are released on the official Facebook page, Discord, and Instagram. However, you can keep it simple and just consult our compendium of Dice Links. We update it daily, and remove links as they expire.
